Asus Zenfone 6 is official: Snapdragon 855, rotating 48MP camera, 5,000mAh battery

16 May 2019
Asus was careful with the compromises it made to build what some will consider a dream phone.

ishreal, 16 May 2019I still don't understand why anyone needs a microsd slot in... moreI got 128gb +32gb microsd and it's already almost full with 50gb++ music, 50gb++ movie and series, and the rest games and apps(certain games reach more than 2GB)

Better rotating than popping up front cam, less risky and more cheap and easy to fix

Reading reviews seems that even if they still call their user inferface ZenUI, now is basically an Android STOCK with only few features added. So the old ZenUI already has died and now is an smoth and fast UI.

Abhi Dahiya, 16 May 2019Fine. But there are some drawbacks as compared to OnePlus 7... moreExcept this is competing with the regular OnePlus 7

There is always this feel good narrative that moving parts in phones go bad quickly and the reality is that people are paying high price and more regularly to fix phone screens and glass backs for 200 and 300 dollars

Ironic that "static" devices are the real ones prone to damage by statistics

X41, 16 May 2019Go home and never come back...lolThank you, but im already home.

I still don't understand why anyone needs a microsd slot in a phone nowadays. Maybe when we only got 8-16gb of storage (real amount usually less because of OS), it seemed proper but with 128gb and 256gb storage, why does anyone need it? Do you really use up more than 256gb of storage? Doubt it. All these people saying its important or necessary probably only use 30-50gb on their phones anyways (and that's over 3-4 years of having the phone). More on-board UFS will always be better than microsd. Always.

Abhi Dahiya, 16 May 2019Fine. But there are some drawbacks as compared to OnePlus 7... moreOkay so stereo speakers are there. But Cons still outweigh the pros.

I think one is better off with OnePlus 7 at this price. Infact costs just $470 in India at least.

Fine. But there are some drawbacks as compared to OnePlus 7 Pro.

                - Lacks good enough cameras. Main sensor has less bright aperture and no OIS. No Zoom lens either.

                - Also that complex camera mechanism is bound to fail really fast. Tested for just 100,000 operations. Lesser than what it should be.

                - No Super AMOLED display. That too just Full HD. No 90 Hz.

                - No proper fast charging.

                - Design definitely does not look premium.

                - Only UFS 2.1 storage. No UFS 3.0

                - No in display front fingerprint scanner.

                - No Stereo speakers (Not sure).

                - Not as good software support.

There are some Pros too and they are 3.5 mm jack, bigger battery and microSD slot(not that necessary now a days).

Certainly not as good value for money as OnePlus 7 Pro. I would say if one really wants flagship specs at low prices with some compromises, just wait for Poco F2/Redmi K20.

you guys get all the amoled in flagships

please leave the zenfone 6 alone, give us that true high res sharpness no stupid diamond pentile display

and a screen that will have zero burn in chance if you plan on keeping the phone for 2years
no chance of colors getting worse because of organic decay over time , and brightness that doesn't drain the battery like crazy

This is it! A true flagship killer.

For the price this is nearly faultless. My last 2 phones have had IR blasters so I would've liked it to have one but it has pretty much everything else, big battery, dual sim with dedicated micro SD, NFC, headphone jack, and stereo speakers. Well done Asus

500e might not seem much, untill you start counting the lesser hardware it has and what it is missing.
                          350e at best

I wouldn't mind this if only it didn't come from Asus.

No amoled, no Wireless charging, no optical stabilization, kinda ugly looking... Overall not terrible, but not worthy 500euros for sure.

It's pretty damn good, lives upto the standard that 5z built last year. Only shortcoming is LCD display instead of OLED, but i guess some people are still into LCDs, so good for them i guess.

Personally i do think the Lenovo Z6 Pro is the better phone between the two though... Still, both are great & have their own benefits.

Very impressive. And it has LCD for all the LCD fans
