China can strike back easily. They can simply block complete Apple sales (iPhone, iPad, Mac) in China, which is the biggest market in the world (1.5 billion). And that is it... As a goverment owned company, Huawei is a national interest, soChina can do this overnight
When Apple sees 40% drop in global sales, USA will change their mind.
So, don't underestimate Chinese. Their response was very calm and polite, it's obvious something is going on in the background

The second group is the Asian Market, with heavy influences from the first group. The third group is the Latin Market and it is actually a minority, and can be influenced by either of the first/second groups. The fourth group are the independent superpowers, they have massive influence to nations among their borders, and can influence the third group with ease, but has difficulty asserting for the second group and even moreso for the first group.

seeing as Huawei is owned by a former peoples libreration army soldier.there could be a chance that some of their phones could have a spyware chip or spyware software that you cant see integrated on their circuit boards on their phones that relay users details to chinese government servers.

This is the beginning of the fall of American dominance in software industry. iOS, Android, windows etc all would be replaced with none American softwares. I hope other countries will step up their game and will develop competitive OSes in the future. I'm predicting China would get help from Russians to develop security and OS softwares that can compete with the American counterparts.

why huawei and not the other chinese oems? well, simply because huawei has been caught red-handed of espionage multiple times with hardware or software inserts or bugs that collect information from users of huawei devices, and the information collected are sent to china for sifting. the information huawei have collected over the years have allowed the chinese government to hack into important people, us businesses, and even government agencies. huawei was also proven to have supplied equipments and devices to the enemies of the united states and its allies. here in the philippines, huawei has been found to be monitoring the government by providing it with bugged equipments like servers and modems. the problem with these bugs is that it provides huawei and the chinese government a backdoor to remotely take control of your device/equipments and launch cyber attacks to whomever they want to inflict harm to. there is a possibility that the united states is doing the same thing to other countries including china, but hey, google services and android is owned by a united states company and they have to swear their allegiance to their own country.

These countries since 10 years prepared these alternative. Yandex can replace Google in all market around the world. And also 95-97% of production of rare elements to make smartphone are located in China, and this country prohibit exportation. That will be only collapse of global market with idiotic US people. Qualcomm, Apple, Google will lose a lot.

For the love of God, it's only Huawei. The company was started by former CCP Army officer. The main beef against Huawei is that their products could contain backdoors used to spy on the governments of other countries. China (and to a lesser extent Huawei) got themselves into this mess by spying and stealing the IP of other countries. I wonder what royalties they pay to others for the use of foreign IP used in their phones? I would wager a guess at not a lot. China also forces countries to transfer tech. so those companies can access the Chinese market. They cant innovate so they steal. That's what this is all about, the ability to use their stuff to spy, and theft of IP.

The winner is SAMSUNG!
As in the previous comments said, other Chinese manufacturers could be easily spotted in the future if they start growing too fast.
LG, Sony and HTC are on life-support for a long time, so they are not real competitor in the race.
Apple can gain some extra with the cheaper/older models.
Samsung reported the outstanding selling numbers in India right before the ban announcement of Huawei. And Samsung is already present on the markets where Huawei competes.

galaxyS7, 21 May 2019I really hope Huawei use their own OS ....LMFAO..because it’s that easy? Tizen OS never took off and Samsung has been in the smartphone business longer than Huawei. Exactly why both companies are desperate to develop their own ecosystem like the mighty Apple.
