There are no winners here. What's to prevent us to unilaterally ban another Chinese manufacturer when they want to, like Xiaomi ot Oppo. Give me a break. This is a very sad situation. And if China retaliates and bans apple or another American company, then what?

Sorry to say that the competition from China are NOT winners... They are the next and they are losers too. Xiaomi, BBK and Lenovo won't win nothing if they gets screwed by USA.
I add Samsung to the losers tier too since Android is damaged and is no longer united. They are no longer trusting Google.
Sony , HTC and LG are on trouble so they can't win.
The only TRUE WINNER is Apple.

The most obvious winner is Samsung. Samsung could make chips, mobile phones, smart devices and 5g equipments. And Samsung is the only one company that could produce mobile phones totally by itself.

Zendroid, 20 May 2019Did you forget the se model? Xr is midrange too. Its a low end flagship for price and SoC. But have few features and cheap components doesn't make it a mid-ranger. It has flagship price too comparing prices with a lot of Android flagships.

Huawei is arrogant, just look how it locks the bootloader & not custom ROMs friendly.
Now it is reaping that negative business practices.
Also it depends too much on Android & Windows OSes. For example, it doesn't provide any Linux laptops/desktops.

Banning their network equipment's even if they have no proof of spying. Now crippling their phones. Like if google doesn't spy on you, Oh wait that's ethical spying
Just admit it, the problem is Huawei is growing too fast and nobody other than China gains from it, economically. Why are these people so worried about China, there are plenty of other problems in the world. First they welcome China and now they kick out China saying, you have grown enough. Trump thinks if everything is made from the USA, it will make them great again, if you want to grow just make education affordable again

Western including USA won't be able to stop the train period. Whatever they would do China would figure out away to compensate because in the end western is dependant on China in many ways.

This is not a blow to any company. In fact, Google will be making a huge sum from it.
and Android will lose its open source status. They will be charging from every phone manufacturer as they charge from one. Huawei has its own custom OS, nay ecosystem almost ready as we all know now but how many apps will it have? The same fate happened with Blackberry OS which was built on top of Android. No apps they were the first ones to introduce gestures in the modern smartphone era. Now Google has the chance to make Android a paid ecosystem, which will result in more profit and no company is that naive to lose this kind of opportunity to "sell" its OS. Adios AOSP.
Also, Android developers will also be screwed. Thanks, Trump!!
