21 May 2019
Unlocking the bootloader voids the warranty, and you won't receive any OTA updates from Asus in the future.

Past phones have either received one update or none. So don't act like they've always been like this. This is a new direction from them

                        Huawei locks their bootloader, while Asus is giving them out for free, and people still choose the former?
                        No wonder why Google banned them from using their services!

                          Ultimate Reviewer, 21 May 2019Oneplus is doing the same. So what do you mean oneplus can ... moreAsus has stock Android with few more options in settings. Ufs 3.0 is overrated as Gary explained. Low quality pentile Amoled can be advantage only to uneducated audience. Asus has no notch,seriously beefier battery, audio jack with NXP amplifiers(like Xperia Z3 back in the say). I'd say Asus gives more for a buck.

                            Asus is really good at giving consumers what they want. Unlike oneplus .

                              Ultimate Reviewer, 21 May 2019Oneplus is doing the same. So what do you mean oneplus can ... moreAsus have in his favor:
                              Jack 3.5;
                              Expandable card;
                              No notch;
                              Better selfie camera (rear);
                              Better battery life.
                              Clean new android+ OS at the level of oxygen.
                              Cheaper 10%.

                              Amoled is overrated, and some people have really problems in eye stress because the way amoled displays flicker at low brigtness.

Also the oneplus 7 at 550 buck is a much better value than this phone. No moving part. Amoled screen. UFS 3.0. And oxygenos.

                                      I think this phone is gonna be "THE ONE". Seeing almost no development for 5z, I was a bit worried that this masterpiece will be pushed into the same dark spot, but now that they suddenly became developer friendly, I think it's gonna be a huge hit.
