Rahul Raj Rai, 21 May 2019So no Xperia 1 in Canada?Well! The problem with Sony is that announcing a phone is a thing while releasing it is another ( and already late to the party). I mean Samsung announced a phone and you'll be able to buy it less than 3 weeks, while Sony's phone cycle are 6 months, and then they announced a phone in months ago and you will get it months later ( it is a complete joke, including their prices of the device too, $949 for just the phone with charging cable and plug).
The XZ3 was still price at $799 couple weeks ago as well the XZ2 was also over $600 a month ago!
As long time xperia phone user myself, I really don't understand how they are still exists in 2019( their business strategies are bad and weird).

I love some of the innovations Sony pulled out in their glory years but their new phones seem so irrelevant. Also with the pricing of their phones, they never really stood a chance in the price-conscious Asian market.

That tells you that sales have nothing to do with how good is your phone and how much it costs, it has everything to do which phone will be in your hand first at the point of purchase. I've never had a hey day Sony but I have been following Sony since XZ Premium and I can tell you those phones are as good as they can get. Build quality cannot be rivaled by any cheaper Chinese OEM alternative.

Maybe the square corners + 1" bezels make people running away too.
Also, they are NOT offering service after warranty in US.
All this combined with high prices.

Hopefully new Electronics division leadership will finally make for better marketing of Xperia phones, so they start making profit finally.
And yep, from what I ve seen so far from initial revs, new device is top notch.
Xperia 1 is a gem full of Sony unique proprietary top tech, 21:9 top 4k 10bit screen and gaming, Alpha camera algorithms, Master Monitor screen optimisation, Venice CineAlpha video recording, Bravia X1 sdr to hdr enhancements, Sonys Dolby Atmos sound mastering.
The headphone jack tho...:(
Still mad about that.
Im waiting for 2020, and buying the Xperia 2, more compact version flag. :)

Yeah, figures. You never see anybody (literally) buying a new Sony where I live at and well, our company has banned their phones from the list of phones we're allowed to use for work. Too many issues, not enough problem-solving and customer service. This is what happens when the recipe is like that.

Good riddance. Overpriced pieces of crap. Bought Xperia C first and then Z1 for wife. Build quality was horrible. Could barely last one year. Decided to stay away from Sony mobiles for rest of life. Chinese half priced phones have much better quality.

Your failure you cant put competitive prices.
Thus you will join the histoy books such as Sony Erricsson or Siemes.
