I'm 2nd year through with my Mate 10. It's still as new, although has problems with the charging port (fast charge stopped working, and it is hard to make the slow one work). Unfortunately my warranty is from another country and Huawei does not respect the warranty, this is unfortunate.
Despite this incident i'll be upgrading to Mate 20 as both devices are great.

I'm on Huawei's side on this as the US is a global bully AND a spy; and if i liked a Huawei/Honor phone, i'd be even more willing to buy it (I don't care about android updates).
But i totally hate Huawei's habit to remove the 3.5mm or cripple/overprise their low/mid-range models, so, honestly, i woudn't be buying a Huawei either way. I have a Xiaomi and my next phone will be either Redmi K20 or Asus Zenfone 6. That's what a flagship should look like and they are even at much lower price. Huawei are just Android's Apple...

Huawei was the only company that could kill both Apple and Samsung.

Since they deleted my comment. Here's the politically correct version of it.

Yes i still support Huawei. What happened to Huawei is unfair & unreasonable. No two ways about it.

I do see things clearing out soon, but the harm to the reputation of the company will take time to recover, which is unfortunate.

The real answer: why would I change my phone?

Plot twist: As the Samsung Fold failed miserably the danger of Huawei overshadowing it with their new Fold phone is unacceptable so Samsung does a secret deal with the US to ban Huawei, which gets Samsung back on the first page of the upcoming fold phones decade.

                  BOOM

                    I don't care, really.
Had the P9 for a while, a great phone that had good support. Had its bootloader unlocked and that opened up a huge customization capability.
Then they decided they don't want to do this anymore, so I'll stick to any other brand that allows me to use my phone the way I want.

Nah I'm good. Sony all the way. If Sony ever decides to stop making phones, I'm going straight to Samsung. Chinese brands should stick to developing markets.

                        I'm sticking with the p30

i would buy new Huawei phone without Android in a heartbeat ... now is good time for truly free OS.

Personally I have absolutely no concerns about Huawei's future. Trump himself said that this whole affair is just used as a leverage in negotiating with China.

Even if they're forced to push their own OS, they've clearly shown they're fully capable of pushing their products in western market. It's all about money - you can always advertise more, you can always pump more money in the system developement, you can always raise 3rd party developer share in the new app store, as long as you have the money. Huawei clearly has it and won't be afraid to use it if necessary. When you're facing extinction, you're going to use all means necessary to survive - even if it meant selling your products with zero revenue for a while. I'm actually kind of hyped for upcoming Huawei devices, I think we're up for a heluva ride if the ban doesn't get lifted. If they give some good deal, I'm going to pick one phone myself - no concerns.

As phones are quite investion these days, I sold P30 and got myself S10. I love Huawei and what they give at lower price point than others, but until all this is resolved I really did not wanted to end up with phone which lost all its value or worse, ended up useless. Couldnt made a stake with my money like that. Best of luck Huawei

I never considered buying them in the first place. Ban or no ban don't effect me

Will definitely keep my P30 Pro. Hoping for alternative OS. If All Chinese companies ditch Spydroid, Google and US spying agentures will be in deep trouble.

Keeping till it no longer functions. I believe the ban will go away if the US and China get back to the table on trade negotiations

Since it's only in trumperica the problem is, then why not. Europe and Asia is still normal. Even though Trump is threatening s Korea about it.
