          While I don't mind metal/aluminium, it's glass that I hate, as it serves no real purpose. Plastic on the other hand can feel as good as metal or glass (provided the maker will actually put an effort to do so) while also being very durable. In other words, metal is great for stationary home devices, like Hi Fi's or amplifiers, but not for on the go stuff like phones.

            Look, if you want a high performance phone at a good price that's great! ...but please know that not ALL people want or need that too! (someone that wants a camera phone will buy a Pixel 3a, someone that wants a great audio quality phone will buy an Xperia etc etc).

                IpsDisplay, 28 May 2019Yes we've finally sank to a knew low Now we have stupid ... moreCan't agree more. Plus, plastic can have unique textures, which can enhance grip. I won't forget my Galaxy Note 3 and its faux leather plastic. That was amazing to hold.
                I don't get why glass is considered a more "premium" material. It's cheap too, a bit more scratch resistant, but not drop resistant, that's why you put on cases and skins.
                I'd rather get something that can survive a drop.

                  Germans sell it for 399€ in Europe, who knows in how many shops. In native Finland only one(!) shop sells it for 599€ (not yet released). Fantastic.

                  I'd buy it just for the camera, rest of the specs don't matter much, no need for games or making Excel files etc.

                    Fk for the sake of premium. Plastic can be premium too. They can make a clear MIL-STD-810G plastic body if they want to.

                        Hear them say it's because of wireless charging meanwhile plastic can wireless charge (nexus device)as it is the most signal receptive of all the other common phone materials

                        Plastic can even be reinforced with glass fibre to increase scratch resistance

                        But they want to deny the laws of physics and say plastic is poor build quality a bunch of mad men i tell you

                          Plus the Snapdragon 855 is not Chinese and that's what important for me.
                          Also a day is 24 hours and I game 2 hours, so your definition of all day is totally wrong.

                            Plastic will always be much more durable than glass. No two ways about it.

                            On the other hand, glass will always be more premium than plastic. No two ways about that either.

                              good plastics are MUCH more durable and pliable than glass or metal and wayyyyy lighter. wish they could find a way to make it look premium so they can put it on phones with good specs which I will buy.

                                  LOL plastic have proven long time ago to be durable and practical, unfortunately people have forgotten about that (And don't really care anyway...)

                                    It would have been worth the price if it had snapdragon 710 or anything in 700 or 800 series

                                      I find nothing wrong with plastic, all phones used to be mostly made of plastic until the flagships for metal rims and backs.
