29 May 2019
The Xperia F is scheduled for next year, so there might be another 5G phone first. The F is said to keep the trademark 21:9 screen aspect ratio.

Before it was a feature of rugged phones like Moto Defy, but Xperia Z changed everything. It took three years to become industry standard for flagships, and then Samsung's A series started pushing it in middle tier as well (but it's sad to see that it still hasn't become a standard there, I guess it will take a couple more years until we finally get rid of non-waterproof phones above $200).

It cannot fold. Cheap phones will still be LCD, while flagships with microLED.

Sony sold more Z tablet than P tablet. Tablet P was something like Axon M. Book style with two screens. Axon M fail to sell too.

Galaxy F is worse than S10+ , worse than upcoming Tab S5.
Too wide to be hold while open, when fold the outer screen is too tiny. Almost iphone 5 screen. The ridiculous notch will ruin media experience. Also apps layout. Screen 3,2:2 is even worse choice.

Moto Razr is much better concept, probably Sony will do something like that. But these devices are too expensive. Like I said, I can buy Tab S4 and S10+ for lower price than Fold alone.

If Xperia 1 with 4G modem and UFS 2.1 ( 3.0 was not available back then) is $950.

Now imagine if " Xperia Flex" brings 5G, ufs3.0, 66.6MP imx666, 8Gb/256Gb , Tof , flexible oled (costs much more than regular oled) and Acoustic Surface for example ...

No way a device like this hits shelves below $1700. Who's gonna buy? People barely buy the ones that cost $800 .
