Tbh even if the S3 will be released with a Quadcore processor, I will still always prefer this phone. It's just special; it has stuff that no other phone does, the design is so beautiful, very fast and responsive, PS certified, NFC, Exmor R, Mobile Bravia Engine and the list can go on...

I to be honest couldn't dream of a better phone. And even if it doesn't come pre-loaded with ICS, the Sony skin makes me feel that I am not using Android in the first place.

UAW! That is truly top of the range feature!
The kind of stuff you would expect from a Rolls-Royce if this were a car. Not brutal raw power but refined stuff to keep it good looking and running well. Style and glamour going along with high performance.
Now, what shall I do with my Arc? I really want this one! ;)

Apple pie, 27 Jan 2012just if the phone packed novathorU8500 chipset like the up ... morethat is an interesting point you made and it would be interesting to read the reviews and compare the performance between xperia s and nyphon because nyphon has novathor that contains mali GPU which is the family of cortex-A9 whereas xperia s has the snapdragon + adreno family.

I hope Led blink more powerful while the foto, than weak light all the time (like during moviea or Torch).

                                I hope too for 3G video-call like Samsung & LG !!!

I'll buy this phone no matter what! I was thinking of buying Galaxy S II, but when i saw this phone, it was like WOW!!! Forget 2011 dual-cores, this is year for true dual-cores: 12+ MP camera, HD screens (300+ppi), ICS 4.0 and so on! :)

I currently own Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc (not Arc S) in silver colour. This is my first phone/smartphone ever, and I'm 32! If you ever set the goal to find a person who unconditionally hates phones, you'll find me. But somehow Sony Ericsson ticked the boxes I was looking for. To go on a Mediterranean cruise I needed a computer. A netbook is still bulky, it doesn't have SIM slot (so no 3G traffic), it doesn't have GPS module. Xperia Arc on the other hand is small, lightweight, capable of playing movies & music & radios, supports Wi-Fi nicely. I used it as navigator and couldn't be happier (it helped me to get to hotel in Bergamo and find a railway station in Savona). So phone capability apart, it's a very handy device. In terms of design, it's very stylish, has an instantly recognizable look. Well, I think there's someone working hard to make SONY phones look like no others. My only gripes are absence of HD 1080p and lack of front-facing camera. So I'm thinking of swapping Arc for the new Xperia S. If I get one, then Arc will go to my brother (together with Casemate protective case and Krusell pouch).
As far as I know Xperia S is going to support both GPS and GLONASS, which a cool thing in itself. Now, if there's a microSD slot, then I'm sold. Will insert a 32 GB SDHC Class 10 card and fly to Venice to enjoy another Mediterranean cruise!
Non-replaceable battery is not a big deal for me.
