That is only true if you don't take care of your stuff and yourself. Many things can last for many many years... It's really as simple as eating and not hurting yourself. If you don't eat or inflict harm upon yourself then you're essentially going to go in the bin like you say.
I understand your point here but phones after 2-3 years usualy laggs have heating problems and othervise battery problems or just turn off unexpectedly for no reason.
Saw that happen many times.

(My friend i run a phone shop and for Samsung devices i have much more warranty claims than for Xiaomi or Motorla which both are chinese. And Xiaomi and Miotorola i sell more than Samsung. So i have to disagree that Samsung is exceptional quality)

They maybe add jack mext year because note without jack wont sells much and maybe they dont.
I dont know.
I never liked jack anyway.
I do like music but i listen only at home and in work nowhere else.
Being wired all the day and walking in streets is a big no for me.

That is still true as Samsung does make quality things but I don't trust their TV's for example and like LG's TV's instead. Since the Note 5, the quality is basically the design but the quality is also in the universalness of the phone as Samsung devices are easy to load custom ROM's on while others are not.
Another thing about quality, this time a bad one is that I believe the Wi-Fi chip is worse in the Note9 than in the Note4 as the Note4 connects much faster to Wi-Fi than the Note9.

Zes, No, Zes No errr. Where we finnished.
Hav... moreYou do make a point, especially with the GF cosmetic cream dilemma, lol but it can be easily resolved by looking at the ingredients. If it is a industrial based chemical cream, then it should be an automatic no and she should look at the natural section free of synthetic chemicals instead.
But either way, the phone choices are still limiting and more choice is good for everybody because when communism was here - there was no choice to buy anything ! The reason this is happening because "higher up white collars floating on money" ( the companies ) think they know better when in reality they should be listening to US, consumers, customers that buy their things in the first place.
Say the new Note10's for example. It's a brilliant idea that they're making a smaller and bigger version - this will make it easier to buy for people who like smaller phones for example but the bad part is that they removed the headphone jack...and this will be a big NO to many dedicated fans ( I'm not a fan, but I do like some of their products ) and I am one of those people who will disregard both the Note10's as my Note9 is an almost perfect evolution of the Note4 sans the poor omitted IR blaster which I really cherish.
I can already see the same scenario happening when Samsung removed the card slot in the S6's and then brought it back with the S7's lol.
Profit will surely be good but not as high as Samsung expects it to be with the Note10 duo - that is a fact.

If BT earphones cost more and they want to sell em they need to eliminate jack.
Is like Xiaomi and Samsung.
As long as competition will sell much cheaper but equal in quality and specs device K20pro for example the interest around S10 will be denied.
For the Xiaomi would be best solution to make K20 pro in first month of this year to sell most so people does not need to spend 3-5 times more on other devices.
People which have enough Money would buy Samsung anyway because they believe they buy quality. But times where more price means quality and more quality is over. Now most phones last 2-3 years and are good for bin.
Until companies like Samsung, Sony Apple etc wont give 10 years warranty on their devices there is no point to spend this high for a phone which can dies after 2 years and you have to pay for new one.
Same goes for our jack debate i understand your point but jackless phones are here for Bluetooth devices. Just becase low quality earphones can be bought for 1 euro or less. And for many individuals is enough.

Also I don't see how your analogy works in this situation. There's not infinite possibilities about audio in a phone. Either Jack or no Jack. You have to put Bluetooth anyway because Google forces you (and nobody would buy a BT-less phone for reasons like accessories). It's not a subjective choice. There are clear pros and cons. And having a headphone Jack does not prevent you from using BT audio. So the logical conclusion is to let the Jack be.

AnonD-732843, 05 Jun 20191. Headphone jack - We both use it so that makes 2 of us an... moreMy freind.
Zes, No, Zes No errr. Where we finnished.
Having more options than no options is sometimes good but its not for everybody.
Wheni take my GF to a cometic shop she can all day deciding between cream for a soft skin or cream for a silky skin. After many hours when i get tires she still did not pick either i buy both of them and then another several hours i have to listen why i toss Money because she would pick one in no time. Thus the funny story and reality of present world.
To save Money or environment people reduce options but dont reduce pricing.
Even thinking about possibilities and options cost one individual time and Money thus the result.
Its not on us what developers will create we just have to pick and use for what we believe it will be good for us.

AnonD-731363, 03 Jun 2019My friend. Its not my decision its decision of manufacturer... more1. Headphone jack - We both use it so that makes 2 of us and an ever more stronger, compelling reason to keep it even though some others don't use it all. - This doesn't merit a removal of the jack by the OEM however. - They should cater to two markets - to the pro jack people and to the people against the jack - two sides of business that can make money.
and wireless options are another business demographic, not mine though.
2. IR blaster - We both use it so again, it makes 2 of us instead of 1 and even though it is not essential since 75% phones never had it, then I and you still would want it. And again, make two phones - for two markets - power users and non-power users - simple.
3. Custom UI compared to pure android is like heaven and earth, stock android is pure and clean but it's missing essentials - THE features that I NEED.
No, essential features are NOT bloatware. See the word "essential" ? Apps you don't need and can't remove are called bloatware. Stupid apps like samsung health as you say can be counted as bloatware because it can't be removed. And yes, in some cases there better apps out there than the ones included in OS's- I agree.
Since you can understand that some individuals would prefer these features and use them - then that is a AUTOMATIC YES that IT IS NEEDED. So let me say it again, OEM's make one phone for this market, a 2nd phone for this market and a 3rd or more for that one.
Simple.
I do not want to be limited by choice as that is the biggest wrongdoing that can be done.
Finally, speaking of radio, if you're in a area with no mobile signal, how will you get your software radio app working when you have no mobile reception as it requires data?
That's where hardware radio comes in, giving you an extra option to get information.

Whether is true of false statement that the phone will cost less without SD slot and jack i cannot say i run a phone shop not phone manufactury or factory where all screws plates and pieces and sticked together to make a one well working device.
But less devices tools etc inside should means less price. Thus to my honest opinion.
About the expensive costs of phone. Xiaomi and many other chinese brands cost still low.
Expensive are ones from Google, Samsung, Sony, Huawei top models or Apple.
I do understand that brands have some expenses and need to earn money but when i see how much earn CEO of some companies compared to basic workers its pretty unfair and we all know where most of the money goes.
This article is just as example.
https://www.cnbc.com/2019/03/05/bugatti-unveils-the-most-expensive-new-car-ever-built.html
And for those wo dont know that Mystery buyer was Wolkswagen president him self.
After many googling its not hard to find. People from news are also big help for knowing the name.
And again i can and i do understand that people on highest company positions would and could earn more but if a president of XXX company per hour or day earn more than his most basic worker per annum or year is like a joke.

I have both. When i need freedom i use my Bluetooth one and when I need quality music. I plug in my Sennheiser. So in case your you think you are gonna reply my comment, please don't tell me those bshit about freedom and quality. Clearly Bluetooth can't match wired headsets. Its a fact. Deal with it.

The air you breathe is dirty, unless you live somewhere away from cities, but you worry about BT? Right....
