13 June 2019
The company will start with low-end devices that will be accustomed to the Chinese audience.

Not only that Windows phone users before were much lesser than today's Huawei users not to mention the possibility of other Chinese brands which might also use the Ark OS.
The shift can be fear driven which will open the opportunity to developers to expand their businesses rather than just encapsulate them in Google app store. Remember, it's business and not partisan politics.

DantE O2, 14 Jun 2019apple is still laughing though. There are now more android phones than ios phones. Apple must be laughing at themselves.

I want to conclude one thing
If this new os doest not have all the apps of play Store or iOS then it will surely going to flop .
Remember windows mobile os...it is one of the best os when it comes to performance very fluid less bugs but also no developer showing intrested for developing app then it's shutdown the business

Apple is going down.. The reason they hide their sales number is because the sales volume dropped 35% despite the small revenue drop.. imagine that 35% drop in one year.. if it continues they will be extinct in less than 3 years.. Ho ho ho

Politics aside, if they're going to mimic their current EMUI skins there is no way I'd every buy it. Huawei purposely keeps us from rooting devices to install stock Android and forces their messy skin.

Can they build their own OS(likely AOSP based)? Sure. Will it surpass Android in functionality and features? Probably not. Maybe they'll catch up, but Google isn't going to be sitting around either. They'll be pushing the bar higher at the same time. It's likely Huawei's OS will also get inferior versions of 3rd party apps compared to Android, kind of like how Android always received inferior versions of 3rd party apps compared to iOS.

whose claim is that it's 60% faster? and how? i mean if it doesn't have any of android serives that is banned by google and runs flast without doing anything well yeah then android would have been faster than android itself, android is an open source OS don't fool customers acting like you are trying to overcome a monopoly by not using android huawei. android is free open source and no one will ever grow hatred on it. try something else.

They can use it however they like. It's just for future ARM architectures, Huawei won't allowed access. It's not a big problem, Huawei management mentioned they gained experience from their collaborations with ARM and is now able to design their own chipsets independently. So overall Huawei should be OK in the future.

Why should the NSA and the US government have access to phones around the world? Because they believe themselves the owners of the world and have the right to everything? Can't be a fork, but as it'll be open source sure that we will confirm it in few months. A fork not need create a module for compatibility as they've done, it'd be natively compatible and is not the case so is a complete new OS from the scratch.

You can't realistically expect this new OS to challenge Android and ios right away. Huawei will release this first to China and let it grow there. Once it matures, it will slowly release it outside China. This is not a threat today, wait two years from now once this matures. Remember what Android was like 5 years ago? Apple were laughing back then.
