Saadhin, 15 Jun 2019I think they have their own OS named Ark OS. It is 60% fast... moreThe OS is not released yet. How do you know it's 60% faster than android?
Also didn't Huawei say publicly that their Kirin CPU is going to be faster than A10 and it turned out to be significantly slower? Bottomline stop believing Huawei.

If their OS was that good they wouldn't look elsewhere.

So it is not fake no news. Ark OS has developed and many companies like Oppo, Xiaomi are already testing this new OS. I think selfish OS might Plan-C as Huawei always keeps multiple options in hand. Let see...time will say what is right or wrong.

The development of HongMeng OS began 7 years back as a plan B, if things go wrong between Google Android & Huawei, because of US restrictions. What's happening now because was predicted earlier by Huawei.

Sailfish OS is a plan C, if things go further worse. There's literally no involvement of Google in Sailfish OS. Moreover Sailfish OS has enough potential to be a runner up with against iOS & Android.

Guess what? The new OS by Huawei will also be used by other manufacturers in China as Google Play Services & Store aren't used by any devices in China. Any smartphone models made for Chinese region lack these Google Apps. Please note China is the largest smartphone market in the world.

LOL the Red Dream of World Domination just got over. Maybe it didnt just started..! hahaha

Just like when they say that their Kirin 980 is faster than the A12. It's not even close, heck, the 980 can't even match the SD855.

mdtrpa, 14 Jun 2019Spying from Huawei was never proved, even Huawei claimed it... moreAgreed on a lot of things, but when you got something that's being literally funded and pushed for by the Chinese government, you have to be careful

Saadhin, 15 Jun 2019I think they have their own OS named Ark OS. It is 60% fast... moreTo stuff the Google commercial eco systems, and therefore, the Americans.

They wouldn't have gone ArkOS before because it would have pur them offside with Google and their eco systems contracts, which you had to sign up for to get those features on the phones. Now they can go Ark OS high end phones, and sailfish low end to disrupt the android market. If sailfish establishes itself, ArkOs might might not be needed, nor Android. So, the lobby must be hitting the WH pretty hard from different directions, as it also denies access to a lot of private user data and monitoring. At this rate, the WH could just let all that go by the way side. Pity Obama didn't, rather than stand up for our rights, he was in with the man, just look at JE in London. We need an advocate for our rights.

I think Sailfish is a good alternative. I never use a Huawei phone, but if they are going with this OS I will definitely buy they products.

If the OS is so great, then HUAWEI should use the new OS in all of their phones, from low end, midrange to flagship.

Why now still searching for an alternative OS?

Is Sailfish OS still exists and being developed further? Couple of years back, Jolla was using that OS but now they had scrapped that project. Not heard any OEM using this OS on their smartphones now.

I think they have their own OS named Ark OS. It is 60% faster than android and it is compatible with APK. So why Selfish?

--voltaire9, 15 Jun 2019Yup,they are officially screwed now.Sailfish??Really??Why? In the worse case, they could continue adapting the Android AOSP ROMS... So they have several alternatives. What i'm sure is that they'll try to follow they own way from now, sooner or later without Android ties. It's only a matter of time until they acomplish it.
