The delay is simple, Exynos 5250 A15 dual core clocked at 2ghz instead of the less efficient A9 Quad Core 1.5 ghz. The Exynos 5250 will probably mean more RAM too.

AnonD-39775, 01 Feb 2012no problem. i've already planned to buy sony xperia ion. sg... moreHmmm...I somehow doubt you've owned an Android, much less Galaxy class smartphone. You sound like one of those whinging symbian Sony Ericsson/Nokia crybaby fanboys saddened that thier brands are now slowly dying and losing thier innovative edge to newcomers that are today's big names and replacing the old skool names that were big 10 years ago, Sony Ericsson and Nokia

great, coz i just bought s II this month and want it to still be top for 4-5 more monthes! and samsung are probably waiting for iphone 5 announcement, coz last year they announced galaxy tab 10 before ipad II who appeared to be slimmer, so samsung rechanged the design and that's what pissed apple and they claimed the samsung were copying them! now they'll wait for iphone 5 to come out and then provide better hardware in every aspect to keep them selves as the "top mobile manufactrure"!

                  I think it's a clever idea...

If they're going after the U.S. market - the GS2 only came out there around about December - so it's way too early to announce its successor..

Because it's been so successful - it can be launched on its own - and this way it gives other models a chance to breathe...

                  HOWEVER

It does give competition a chance to flex their muscles a bit - and maybe catch all the impatient people with one of their offerings!!

Personally, I've had a GS1 and GS2 - I'm a bit bored with Sammy now, so time to try someone new! Sony, I reckon... (HTC cameras still suck!)

no problem. i've already planned to buy sony xperia ion. sgs 3 is not imprtant as long i was dissapointed by sgs 2: weak signal reception, low power output through headphones jack, incredible bad back cover design, very bad photos in low light and arificial light, very artificial video recording. my ex nokia n8 was miles ahead in terms of video recording than sgs2 even it had 720p recording. so no more korean toys for me. sony the one and only !!!

I think it's great news because i much rather have a finished product than have a device that comes with a lot of bugs and a lot if things missing so i say good job samsung give us something that's not gonna have any problems from the day you launch it and i mean look at apple they always take their time and they are doing ok.

No iphone 5,no Nokia N8 replacement,no sgs3 are they saying to us that things are slowing down.Maybe they cant get all the new tech working because of heat and battery life issues?
