Looks like I will hold on for a while with new phone purchase. I was thinking going for Galaxy S3 of iPhone 5, but now I will wait for Win 8 solutions as well before I deciede. I certanly hope the 8 will get decent phones hardware from other manufacturers (mainly Samsung) since I dislike Nokia.

After reading this article, when Windows Phone 8 comes out, looks like I'm going to be ditching Android.

            Now that sounds great.
I like the Symbian belle but I am currently using
            a Samsung Android Phone.
I've been a long time NOKIA consumer from my 5110, 3210, 8210, 3310 then the Nseries like the N70 then switch to the bad-ass Phone at that time the Nokia 5800Xpress Music. But got stolen and tried ANDROID... I like it and chose Samsung. As for now I am enjoying its features but Battery life really suck.
Now with this WINDOWS PHONE 8 I am starting to put my interest to NOKIA again since they are the flagship carrier of WP.

Anonymous, 03 Feb 2012wait wasn't the Nokia N8 supposedly the Android Killer? Oh,... moreMeeGo would be a very good competitor if the project wasn't killed off.

I wouldn't say surely that it would be an Android killer, but it could of made a great run for it if it wasn't for Elop.

android is a very good os but manufacturers are ruining it by not updating the os to its latest version.even the new smartphones are coming with old gingerbread os.if this lack of update continues, surely major market share of android os will be taken by windows phone at the end of this year.this will be a great threat for android...........

Its really a HUGE list of new features/improvements coming to WP platform! Sharing the same elements of kernel as of Windows 8 for desktop is most interesting thing and this thing alone can kill the competition. It will be so easy for everyone (from developers to consumers) to play around with WP.

                          Those are REALLY GOOD news.
                          - micro sdcard support.
                          - full device encryption.
                          - run on lesser hardware.
                          - multi core support.
That's pretty much most requested feature for windows phone.

Now what MS need is a small & free tools to quickly develop app for wp8, and less restriction to sell app in wp market.
I'm sure with that number of wp8 apps will grow very quickly.

A little note, currently android didn't support any full device encryption. That feature is really important for corporate user, especially for business phone.

Meego surely was the android killer right? No? Oh... so the WP7 Tango Lumia 800 that was a flop was the Android Killer? No? Lumia 710 was? No? Dang, all these supposedly "killers" Android doesn't even register Windows Phone as a threat, only Tim Cook does and that's because Microsoft has the money to throw around. LOL.

Very exciting news..when the day comes when there is no difference between the OS on ur pc and on your smartphone and you can run the same software, apps and data on either one, then we would truly have reached "Mobile computing"..Microsoft will steal a march on iOS if Apple doesnt innovate fast enough..Android still has a long way to go before integrating Chrome OS and Android..
                                    Three horse race coming up!!

WOW. It all sounds very tantalising. Microsoft really seems to be on a roll. They seem to really care more about the users now, and Windows 8 seems like it will be a game changer across all platforms. I hope they get rewarded for this new attitude they have.
