23 June 2019
This app is "powered by CineAlta" and targets budding videographers, but it may have promised more than it can deliver.

I love reading all the jealous and envious comments from Sony fanboys. Expecially towards the winning and leading brands like Huawei and Samsung.

Dual edge looks nice, but no benefit.

With dual edge and screen hole the S10+ loses 5cm2 compared to a flat screen of same diagonal and ratio without cam hole.
Lets not forget the unwanted touches, more fragile structure , light reflection etc ...

Sifat, 24 Jun 2019Not having a pre-installed editing app can not be a negativ... moreExactly this. I'm not about to do video editing on any screen under 16 inch diagonal. In the same way Sony have always assumed users would edit their still photos on a PC. If you don't agree with their philosophy, there's plenty of choice out there.

Had for a week for testing. The app is not bad, but sensor… is not even average on a market. God bless there is P30…

Anonymous, 24 Jun 2019I remember someone praising XZ3's implementation of the cur... moreXperia 1 have less curved screen while Samsung curved screen is more curved, so the Xperia 1 sceen must be durable than samsung: The physical is the more the curved screen have sharper edge of glass to mount on the frame, the Samsung curved screen has more curved than Xperia 1 that's why Xperia 1 has sturdier curved screen compare to Samsung S10+.

Then again, Samsung has employed Sony's IP rating and never went back since then (with the exception of ths S6/Note 5).

                              Sony forever.

This is so beautiful guys! I already commented in YouTube!
Seriously you should do something with your talent. Maybe a short movie?

How is LG's video app in comparison to this? LG has been providing this feature in their phones from last 2 years I guess.

Martin , 23 Jun 2019LG manual video settings vs Sony Manual test pls. Me too, I want to see this.
It started with the LG V30 and its chops to provide a more Professional Camera App. The Sony App always left me wanting more (Sony XZ1c), but I'm not sure if things have changed, in general, since then. And not sure if the Cinema Pro App is restricted to only the Sony Xperia 1.

I also want to see how these both compare to some alternatives, Paid Apps on the Google PlayStore. Simple editing tools in phones are nice, but not crucial. Unlike having as much Manual Control right there on your phone, before capture, is very important. And so is being able to capture in RAW format, which can then be exported to your Windows/OS X laptop or desktop and be edited using a Professional Editing program.

Otherwise, forget it all and stick to a mirrorless/DSLR.

Not having a pre-installed editing app can not be a negative point.... that is just stupid....

First, you can download an app for editing.
Secondly, everyone using cameras are editing photos in their PC, how come that is not a negative point then?
