In my country Malaysia we can buy Xiaomi phone with price 3 quater less from your list at their own website or additional extra few bucks at private retailers. Example Redmi Go in Malaysia is USD73.00. How come Xiaomi phone are very expensive in your country ?

Snapdragon 855 are Qualcomm's 1st generation 7nm SoCs..and don't have good battery life. I think it'll take a few years before Qualcomm releases battery efficient 7nm SoCs. The models mentioned in this article both use 855s. Better luck next year and the years following with 7nm SoCs Qualcomm.

notafanboy, 23 Jun 2019Stop trolling. Huawei phones are great.Camera may be great. But as phone they don't lasts longer, battery is average. Since Android no longer supports. There is risk buying Huawei phones. I never recommend one or buy one, doesn't matter how cheap they in the end.

This isn't fair.
They're comparing Flagship devices to non-flagship devices (Upper-Midrange).
It's like last year when they compared the Redmi PocoPhone F1 to the Samsung S9+...
...it wasn't equal then, and it's still not fair now.
Price alone isn't a good indicator, because some countries have stupidly-high import tax amounts, and some countries get huge discounts, while others have no warranty and have to use the Grey Market. Specifications alone aren't the best indicator either. But a combination of the two, and some common sense, and you can work out which category a device belongs to: Flagship/Luxury, or Upper-Midrange, Midrange, Low-end, and Entry level.

1 dollar is equal to m... moreMy point is, if only the components of S10+ cost $420 , how are they supposed to sell the device for $480 like Xiaomi? It is impossible because the final cost of s10+ is way above what xiaomi charges.
Mi9 does not cost as much as S10+ to be made, that is a fact. I doubt is more than 40% of final price of s10+. Same applies against P30 Pro, Xperia 1 or OnePlus 7 Pro.
Samsung is everywhere except North Korea, Xiaomi is not. This is nothing cheap to keep operations, costumers centers etc ... Samsung does not make money with stupid adds in their UI. They do not use cheaper component.
Zte, Oppo, Vivo, Huawei , LG, Sony, HTC, Samsung, Apple, Google and One Plus (first time) all had at some point devices above $600. How cant other price them at $460 too? Because it is impossible.
Xiaomi CEO said once they dont need money from cellphones, no matter if they end up losing money. They just want to sell. Other companies dont work this way.
Zenfone 6 is barely out and xiaomi is already with one copy on the way. This way R/D is not even necessary. Mi Mix is Sharp Crystal, Mi Note 2 is S6 Edge+, Mi6 is iphone 7+ ...
Not even counting the fact they like to use old components. Mi A2 Lite with SD625, many phones with micro usb, old gorilla glass versions ....
Do you know Redmi Note 7 Pro has ddr3 RAM? Even low midramges from other brands have ddr4.
By the way these are prices of Xiaomi devices ( on their own website) in my country converted to american dollars:
Redmi Go (1/16Gb): $209 ,00
Pocophone F1: $863
Redmi 7 (3/32) : $392
Redmi Note 7: $523
Mi 8 Lite (4/64) : $785
Mi9 (6/128) : $ 1256
People here will keep getting them on gearbest, ebay etc instead of at their store ...

This is a good example how many companies spent on marketing. For me this is the ranking of cash spent on marketing. I love my OnePlus 7 Pro and I would not change it to any other phone currently on market(I would consider Pixel XL 4 sinice it has no notch and hole) but for me the winner of this year is Redmi K20 Pro. It is just insane power to proce ratio and for most of users it has all that it should have. Why did I choose OnePlus then? 9 0 h z .
Screen is all I need.

Honestly the best phone I have ever used is the S10+ Ceramic Black with 1TB storage and 12GB Ram, I was lucky for getting it half price thanks to someone selling it to me without issues and only 2 weeks used LOL

O a disk space it requires to swap one unit for same one same size but different storage manufacturing price between 64GB disk space and 1TB disk space is bare minimum but these companies are ready to add even 400 euros difference.
Same goes for ram. 4GB ram or 12GB ram does add its costs but its not more than maybe 30-40 bucks. But in a final selling price it will be like 200 bucks.
By the way K20 Pro only goes up to 256/8GB is enough there is no app whjich will use 12GB ram. About storage is the same. I have my Moto X4 and in 18 months having this phone forom very first day it was available for sale i used like 40GB from 64.
Having 1TB in phone i cant even imagine what i would put inside to fill that space.
For me is complete waste and i dont think there will be many people which will consider 64GB as not enough.

1 dollar is equal to maybe 0,65-0,70 euro cents. This 320 si real.
Then you add advertisement, workforce, reaserch/development, licensing of thir part tech, taxes, distribution costs etc ..
In our case xiaomi is so good brand they ell even without spending money for advertising.
Why top brand like samsung needs to pay some movie stars or other celebritios dozens of millions just to promote their devices? Are they afraid to sell them on their own like xiaomi???
Then even xiaomi have tech where they spend money also distribution making a global version of a phone instead of china phone wihout google support. And many else.
Making for example xiaomi foldable phone wont be cheap. Sure they dont spend as much as other competitors but still they are definitely creative.
Dont have illusion that xiaomi phones have same factory costs than other brands. They cost much cheaper. There is no xiaomi is earning only $5, $10, $40 per unit ...
No business could survive this way.
And lastly xiaomi not only survived this way but they were managed to open 500 shops in india at same time of a day and hour for example. And continue to open more shops across the world.
From a small company estabilished 10 years ago they went to 4th most selling phone brand becase they dont have the feeling to rob their customer like apple, samsung, sony, lg etc. For someone like xiaomi 5-50% profit on a brand new phone is more than enough where other companies sells their devices with 400-500% increased in price compared to manufacturing price.
