All said, AT&T patented a screen camera decades ago based on CRT technology for video phones and Apple once did too more recently I believe.

Finally a prototype is coming out to light. Can't wait for this to become the new trend. Just like the vivo nex was once a futuristic phone and now everyone offers similar solutions. Well not everyone, Apple will invent it in 3 years :D

I'm not an... moreIt's not like underscreen selfie camera will replace normal one in a day. There are still a lot of phones out there that don't adapt this technoology.
I suggest you to bought pop-up mechanism or flip camera or slider phone if you are that paranoid.

One problem that I have with this is privacy.
I'm not an 'instagram influencer' so I don't really take selfies (I've taken maybe 5 in my entire life), so what I like about my selfie camera in bezel is that I can put a sticker over it and nobody can spy on me through it anymore - people cover the webcams on laptops all the time, yet I don't see that many doing the same with their phones. You can still cover it if you have some kind of notch, but with under-display selfie cam you can't really do this anymore, because there most likely won't be any option to blacken out the top part of the screen (like you can with notches).

doesn't matter who has the first idea. anybody can come up with an idea...
at least one company dare to make it reality, that will make other company steam up their engine to follow suit and make a better version of this new tech.
so I will get under display camera in the not so distant future

Samsung said they have this in concept and working on it since last quarter of last year but even now no working device not even dummy one.
So again when comes to technology they are fast as LG phones with their updating schedule.
I dont hate i dont understand why this multi trillion company which employ more people than central europe have camt make a working unit when company like Oppo which is barely known outside of china can make a working device at least dummy one.
