nokia u deliberately killed symbian by designing the phones with stupid fixed focus cameras and std screen resolutions 360*640 which remained unchanged.. N8 is the one and only symbian belle device to have autofocus cameras and all other belle devices with stupid fixed focus cameras.. people expect their devices to be all round performers and u failed there nokia...

well at least dont use these stupid fixed focus cameras on windows devices..

Giving up Symbian is way too bad already, and getting Window for their phones is even worse... Nokia should have chosen Android...

No... the real reason Symbian sales has dropped because:
            1. They cancelled Nokia 600, the most hyped Belle device
            2. Not enough ads (this means they don't want Symbian to sell well)
And now, ironically, they moaning after it failed to met sales expectation. WTF Nokia are you sure? Your poor marketing strategy was the main problem you s2pid Nokia. If you don't want to sell it, kill it already.

Stephen Elop is threatened because Symbian's sales has grown from 16.8 million in Q3 2011 to 19.6 million in Q4 2011. He thinks Symbian is a threat to his Windows Phone hence he's rushing Symbian's discontinuation.

It's a shame what they did with Nokia. I'm not sure how they expected to ditch all of the Symbian power for Windows Phones when they clearly still don't have anything to offer. Besides, what was wrong with Symbian? Nothing at all if you ask me. All it needed was some refresh and their phones could still be an awesome choice. I just wish they'd use the damn auto-focus cameras on mid range phones because quite frankly, their fixed focus garbage is just plain useless. You can't even scan a freakin BAR or QR code with any of them.

Windows 8 appolo will surely teach crapdroid and i device some lessons.

Bart, 04 Feb 2012Former symbian users are moving towards Android not windows... moreyup and agreed...even myself as a loyal Nokia user for 7 years now I'm also fed up with Nokia for making "Slow" progress and innovation, so i moved on to android (HTC Sensation XE)...Though Android is power hungry, it provided me with a user experience that i have never seem to have from any Nokia device. RIP Symbian. guess the only devices that I'll buy from Nokia nowadays are their feature phones. XD

Since there is no help, come, let us kiss & say good bye. Symbian, the OS that created most of Nokia fans like me.
But we the nokia lovers don't understand is there any thing we don't know between Nokia & Android? Even Samsung, one of the market bottom liner (phones only) became huge popular after choosing Android OS for their samrtphones. I just can't imagine what a revolution we would see if Nokia release there SP with Android. I will be wating for that day.

i am nt a crazy symbian fan...i use android currently n love it. but i can never get over the fact tht symbian was the first smartphone OS most of us experienced. the two guys who said they'll buy the last symbian phone, my eyes actually went moist. funnily enough, i believe nokia did right with WP7...not that i don't like android, i love it, but nokia want to shape their OS the way they want with a certain amount of exclusivity which would have been hard for a mature and popular OS like android. and you can't help but notice that WP looks gorgeous

this is simply a rumors its been confirmed by nokia in there developers blog.they have lot of plans with symbian including a dual core phone.also they want to keep symbian floating till windows phone appolo os started to roll in market,so symbian will continue at least till 2014.

nokia wanted android, but google said no, or google wanted to much money to let nokia to install android on their devices.i dont know. but it would be nice to have nokia/android.

symbian start to be old, and people want new things, people get borred with what they have, (people change car every 2 years in the USA, change phone each year maybe?). one day android will die for window 12,....

great futur for window with their window 8 for tablet.

                                        RIP symbian!
