Freedom is great, but freedom alone cannot support one's life. I respect the decision of many companies who decided continuing trading with China. No matter what, the decision of related to hundreds of employees, and thousands of family members of these people. If you are not one of them, it is not fair to speak for them, IMO. I have no doubt President Trump really loves USA, but I am also quite sure that his business has no relationship with these companies.

If...if the ban continued Huawei would lose Bluetooth microSD
Trump is desperate for this to end, it has been reported that China has gotten the Huawei ban lifted prior to a new trade deal being signed
The more contentious is the extradition from Canada of the Huawei CEO daughter by Trump Executive Order
In the interim Huawei will work on the OS maybe launch it.
Huawei will no longer have to pay Google for Android, other manufacturers may jump ship also so it becomes a revenue stream
App follow the phone as most of these developers are IOS and Google, so as Huawei is large there is or will be phones ready to take on the world

My Chinese friends are using dark web and other techniques just to be able to communicate censor-free/safely with the outside world and you're praising the idea of giving all your data to the Chinese government. Sad.
What's also sad is Micron doing their best to find loopholes to trade with Huawei. My time in Boise, Idaho found it to be full of patriots and lovers of freedom. Shame Micron doesn't feel the same way.

Basically if the ban would ruin a US company it's OK to continue to sell. They're only looking to ruin Huawei not US firms.

We should all thank Trump for forcing Huawei to have their own operating system, I can't wait to have a US free phone, no Google or social medias or just all this useless and anti-confidential Apps, brands and OS. I don't care what the Chinese do with my data, I just don't want it to be in Western hands for such a silly use.

As we speak, tech companies from other nations are already stepping in to replace them in the hardware supply chain.
This trade war also opens up room for a new OS software to step in, challenging Android's market share and dominance, which Google definitely isn't all too happy about it either.

Yeah, US companies have machines to run, salaries to pay, inventories to sell while Thump's own business lose nothing in the trade war. I suspect the war will end next year after the election and nobody wins the war.

Unless trump pays the usa companies the loss value of the business this is inevitable companies has to pay salaries for their employees and other payments, just because USA don't like huawei's growth they can't be childish and ban companies without a solution for effected third-parties.
