Hmm..., 04 Jul 2019Your brother in law is pulling your chain! Even 5G can only... moreStandard 4G should reach it's limit at around 80 Mbps, but 4G+ can reach up to 300 Mbps.
71.97Mbps is the average across Norway with some places not having 4G+ or even 4G at all. Last time I ran a speedtest I got 117 Mbps and that way out on the countryside, far from any base station which also resulted in an awful 47ms ping. In the city it's around 16ms. But again, LTE+ and not standard LTE. Maximum should pass 200 Mbps with ease and reach close to 300 Mbps.
5G that is being tested here is indicating 1-10 Gbps in round one for users standing or sitting still, but users in rapid movement by car, train etc. will likely be limited to 100 Mbps. Their goal for ping is 1ms, and maximum 10ms.

Anonymous, 04 Jul 2019yeah.. so this is so much better than 5g right? One is a cell network, while the other is a lan line network. But to answer your question it is a yes.

Anonymous, 04 Jul 2019he actually named it panoramic wifi. That service uses a lan line network with special compression algorithm allowing a max transfer on current standard wifi 1000Mbps or 1Gps. This is possible, when you have a medium compressing & uncompressing the data stream for you. Don't know if this is true but likely...

P.S. Current 4G hasn't hit that limit yet the average network handles about 35Mbps on average.

My condolences to the UK. Even when the backbone can't even handle 4G. What makes them think, that the speed will improve on the radioactive 5G when the backbone can't even handle 4G?

Anonymous, 04 Jul 2019In Canada we have the same issue.True but it's nowhere near as bad as in Philippines
And we'll certainly never see this here:
"Unlimited Max is £30 a month and will not be speed capped at all - so you'll always connect at the highest possible speed, as fast as your device and the network conditions will allow."
The new "unlimited" plans are scams with ridiculous throttled speeds. 256-512kbps?! And no way 5G reduces the prices (first because band auctions, then because Canada).
