There is only free speech and you personally might find it hateful sometimes but peoples subjective opinion of what is offensive should not be forced onto others. How will you ever grow as a person if you don't ever hear different, potentially shocking ideas?
If the price of free speech is occasionally being offended then we should all be willing to pay that price. Government censorship of speech is dangerous. Today they might be censoring people you don't like but tomorrow it could be you, or someone you want to hear

this could be indeed used to curb free speech. it would be really difficult to define "hate speech" if we are to consider everyone's opinion. it has been proven time and again that laws applicable to real life will not always work online; the internet is a different realm altogether where the citizens of the world converge- no countries, no social status, no religion, and no gender. while the internet is not exactly the utopia john lennon imagined, we are on the way and what we need is a consensus between countries on laws applicable online so we can all live in peace.
