09 February, 2012
There's no public release or some kind of tutorial for redoing the port yourself for now.

THAT IS AWESOME. If this port works flawlessly, I can think of N9 as second pet to my another awesome GNote :)

Perfect combination! I would buy a nokia with w7 or meego knowing that I can put Android, otherwise not a chance! If nokia is smart they can develop backside android laboratories under certain nicknames on xda ,will increase market share....

If Nokia had chosen to offer Android phones instead of rubbish WP then they'd actually stand a chances of still being around in a few years.

Now thats a nice 'crossbreed' (yeah im a car guy)

Combine the good aspects of each device and you get a PROPERLY built phone running a PROPER OS...You can love it or hate it, fanboys and purists will opt the latter but the open minded should see the potential of that install.

If ICS is able to solve at least 50% of the issues with Android core, then why not????
                    Bring it on....will get one

Please dont destroy that beauty design with Android OS!! The N9 was specialy build for MeeGo/Harmattan platform!! I have N9 and don't complain about future of OS: it just works out of the box, I have skype, facebook, Yahoo Messenger, Flickr, twiter and others BUILD INTO THE SYSTEM, not as separate apps, THAT's REALY COOL!! And even Nokia will support it until at least 2016, not to mention the community!

I personally like Meego better than Android. I've owned a few Android phones and love my N9. I just wish that I could overclock the CPU of the N9 just a little bit more, to 1.2 ghz and I think that it would run a lot better. The battery life is great on the device and the OS is really stable, GPS picks up immediately....overall an awesome phone and I don't miss Android in the least...just some of the apps.
