Google Pixel 4 XL renders show a classic top bezel, no notch or punch hole

The top bezel comfortably fits a dual camera, an extra sensor (3D IR sensor maybe) and a speaker.

Although I wouldn't pretend that I'm speaking for everyone in this ridiculous world, I'd just say that from the ergonomy viewpoint the "chin" seems preferable over the upper bezel to me - just try a simple experiment. First, scratch the tips of your fingers with your thumb. Then scratch the lower part of your palm with your thumb. Now compare which movement was less uncomfortable...? ;)
I'd say Google's phones have always had some appeal to me because of that "first row" software experience. But before I got to make my mind and buy one, they've joined the ubiquitous Android trend of phone-booth-sized abominations. And this year's renders show quite a... courageous design :D

    Nexus were the best google phones i hope google brings the brand again. Pixel looks like hipster made for teenagers

        the design of Pixel C tablet and Pixel Book are great, especially that Pixel Book.. why not using THAT design, Google??

          If I knew earlier that Pixel 4 will look like this I would consider buying it..... Finally someone breaks Punch hole, notch fashion!

              dear google : no notch option is a perfect choice but please put identical bezels otherwise it will look ugly as hell

                Dear Google .. People like symmetry .... If you really wanted to avoid the notch .. then you could have just followed Pixel 3a XL design .... were you out of your mind ??????

                          While every manufacturers are progressing and making Gavin's in design, Google is completely regressing

                          Even 100$ Cosmo has better design than this

                            If it has more than 6gb of ram its a plus i returned my 3XL because it was too slow.

                              I honestly don't mind bezels, unless they make a phone too wide to the point where it can't be used with one hand. The Xperia L1 has bezels but the side bezels are minimal.

                                Phone with notch and punch are most ugly . Have a look at P30 , S10 . Someone gonna say hey hey you can hide notch n hole so what's the point. Lol with thin bezel we can get better camera flash led indicators, proximity sensor better speakers .this design is best like Xperia 1.

                                    ...yeah, this sounds like the phone the Google design team would build.

                                    And then they would price it against the iPhone, and they would continue to lose sales because of that arrogance. Especially when considering there's much better direct alternatives coming from Sony-Japan, Korea Samsung-LG, and various Chinese brands/competitors.

                                    PS: Looks like I'm boycotting all Google devices, rest well my Nexus, and will focus on something like Samsung S10+, OnePlus 7 Pro, or the ASUS RoG Phone 2.

                                      Looks good I'm guessing it will have either an in display fingerprint scanner or a side mounted fps in the power button.
