Samath N8 808 owner, 12 Jul 2019You do know that, you can use USB-C even in a phone with 3.... moreBut that's the issue. Nor only is it ridiculous enough that people defend it even though it's just taking away an option. But there is no benefit to removing it. It doesn't make it better. It doesn't make it cheaper. It doesn't make it look better. It doesn't make it cheaper. Doesn't give it a bigger battery. Hasn't made them thinner. They are already ip68 with them. The quality is a downgrade not an update. And Bluetooth means other devices you have to charge, take with you, less quality, drain battery faster, and could get lost.
It one thing as an option. But being forced to for reason or benefit is insanity.
And what's even more insane are the people defending it.

Even with AptX HD/LL or LDAC. Giving users a choice between using bluetooth/type-c port or 3.5mm is still the best. Now we just lose one of the options.

What a pity. I used to praise Samsung for retaining the 3.5 mm, but looks like they have succumbed to prssure.
How can NOT having a feature be considered as a 'Positive' is beyond my comprehension. People arguing for blue tooth or type C earphones can STILL use them on phones with 3.5. Why on earth they are cynically demanding the jack to be removed is also beyond me, with malicious intent being the only explanation.
Will NOT buy this for sure. LG it is for me. Screw you Samsung. LG or Huawei for me. Will make sure that evewryone considering the Note 10 knows that it does not have a jack.

Glad someone used a ... moreYou do know that, you can use USB-C even in a phone with 3.5mm jack, thus giving you all choices?
And there are incompatibility issues too, and also, less possibility of using sound modifiers, mixers, pitch changers, etc.?
And there's actually a chance of lower sound quality?
Without a dedicated DAC, I expect the Note 10 to be slightly cheaper now though.

Don't like it. Don't buy it. Maybe Samsung will come around when sales are bad, like when they added back the SD card slot in S7.

Anonymous, 11 Jul 2019I'm laughing at 'no headphone jack' comments... seriously b... moreThe market for smartphones seems to be suffering on aggregate, due to regressive steps like this one. I wonder if Android manufacturers will someday start going 'full retard' and start limiting software functionality like iOS does.
