Even though i'm one of the few people who still want to keep the headphone jack on phones, it's safe to say that a majority of flagship phones will be abandoning them entirely within the next few years, most notably (no pun intended), Samsung. Does anyone know how long it will be until lets say... budget phones start coming out w/ no headphone jacks from brands such as Nokia, Moto G series, ect. 3 years, 5 years??

Alas though, I'm quite sure the rumours are true about the loss of the 3.5mm jack. Don't even get me started on that joke of a screen.
Although it isn't in the same league (but not a million miles off), I guess I'll have to look at the Sony Xperia 2 for a proper screen and a 3.5mm jack.

Anonymous, 11 Jul 2019Sony has noise cancelling earphones for many years for sale.
That's the problem with non popular brands even though they have many innovative products in the past most people never heard them.
For example as far as i know Sony were the first who bring AR to smartphone but no one really care about that until Apple put similar feature in their phones.
And the so-called AI mode in camera is just another name of for Sony's Superior Auto.

As long as the rumors turn out to be false and it keeps the headphone jack this won't be a bad phone at all. I'll be genuinely surprised if Samsung ditches it with the Note phones, I'm sure a lot of Samsung's core fanbase will revolt and create another PR disaster for them like with the Note 7, something Samsung most likely doesn't want ever again. Because of this I'm hoping they're keeping it but I'm still not sure

So why in the world would they remove the jack and add another usb-c port (and for earphones on top of that) ???
Doesn't it sound counterintuitive ???
Think again man !

Anders, 11 Jul 2019If the Note10 isn't going to have a headphone jack then it ... moreThat would be useless.
Samsung made this to stop people rely on phone 24//7 365days in a year.
Someone finaly used a brain and removed useless obsolette feature like jack.

If the Note10 isn't going to have a headphone jack then it should have 2 USB C ports. So you can have one from charging and one for music

That's ridiculous. Removing a cheap and practical feature like 3.5mm jack only to add more expensive headphones, which fix 0 problems related to lack of 3.5mm jack. You still can't charge and listen, you can't use your jack for your car stereo (Or anything else non-headphones related) and if you prefer over-the-ear/on-ear headphones you're out of luck too (I personally can't use any modern earbuds and find them completely ridiculous abomination. Putting something into your ear canal? Nah, thanks, but no, thanks).

If they're in the box, the hole isn't as noticeable as we think it's going to be, the battery life is greater than a day, and they bundle goodies in the box with the phone, the price is like other flagships (meaning not more than 1k), then and only then will I think that the removal of the headphone jack was somewhat justified. We already know the price won't be nice to our wallets, so here's hoping for 3 more Android version software updates instead of 2
