Huawei could have used a normal name like Windows Phone OS. Harmony, really? Could have called it Ascend OS, sounds more original.

Huawei is still learning their lesson. If they register their OS with such a common non-unique name, one can easily trademark "Harmony" in his own country and put Huawei in big big trouble.

Their HongMeng is not even a mobile OS. How in the world can they claimed that it is 60% faster than Android?! Huawei has been deceiving its customers! I'm now skeptical about Huawei security claims too.

Apps follows phones, Huawei can release its flagship say in the Far East market, and say the lite versions, (Android) in the USA
The problem for Google is this:
If other phone makers follow Huawei, this is a loss to Google in that phone manufactures pay Google for each software version it allows on its phone
Going back years Samsung released a Windows version as well as an Android version

I will definitely cheer for Harmony, i.e. an optimized and Google-free Android!
They already have a Google-free Android in China, adapting it for the West shouldn't be that difficult.

Apple is out of the question for me. Google is still letting me have some control over my actions. With apple .... Lol this failed. This sound Huawei may have strong competition over files os names and must be bad licensing of patents when they come first bloc countries. Bad things always happen just for remember. When is take it must be return back it.
