Many of you are really disappointed for having HD+ display and SD665 for that price and saying that this phone is really underwhelming , not worth the money and not an upgrade over the Mi A2.
This Mi A3 has many more upgrades over the Mi A2.
It has much better design and build quality , Mi A3 just looks gorgeous and elegant compared to iPhone-clone Mi A2.
A3 has Super AMOLED display with much smaller bezels and slightly bigger than A2 making it a perfect sized phone for 90% of people.
It has SD665 which is a minor upgrade in terms of speed and gaming ( 5-10% better overall performance than 2.0GHz SD660 ) but quite major upgrade in AI integration ( 2x better than SD660 ) and power efficency ( 25-35% better efficency than SD660 ).
It also has better , more versatile cameras ( main+ultra-wide ) that can take better photos and videos than A2 with Camera2api compitability for Gcam use.
A3 also has much better selfie camera with larger sensor , more MP , has better pixel pinning making it a selfie champion for its price.
It has much bigger battery with faster charging support ( this is a massive upgrade over A2 ) and has USB-C 2.0 vs 1.0 found in A2.
It has 3.5mm jack , SDcard slot that were missing from the A2 and still retains the same great software experience and IR sensor.

Yes, it has HD+ display which is quite disappointing and SD665 isn't that big upgrade and we can blame Xiaomi for going with these decisions but this can't prent you from buying this device and enjoy it.

Good luck selling 720p in 2019 no NFC, SD660 => SD665. Xiaomi never makes Android one smartphones perfect because there skin will lose lot users. This phone needed just 1080p, NFC, SD 675 and at price 300 evro it would be best seller in America and Europe.

The specs does not equate the high price tag.
How about you buy an excellent condition V30 plus for $140?

            720p ew

Err... Xiaomi, why? You already have a brilliant mid-ranger in the form of the Redmi Note 7 with quite a decent camera setup. Introducing another phone with roughly same specs but inferior screen is a move I struggle to understand.

Yes, Android One is something quite a lot of people will find appealing, but at the same I am sure the same people will also happily buy a better-specced phone, like the Mi9T with AO slapped onto it.

Of course, this will sell in large amounts anyways, but it looks like this phone is only out there to make up numbers of SKU.

Would have given it a pass if not for the stupidly high price for this spec list. And was waiting for it like hot pie... If they do an A3 Pro how are they going to compete with Mi 9SE or Mi 9T?!?!

The "Lite" should be 540p+, lol.

Downgrade dissplay think for better battery life.

lol, I can get a much superior Mi9SE for couple of bucks more. Fail.

Xiaomi with A3 just burned Mi A program. Clearly a huge disappointment. I'm staying with Mi A1

I feel let down by xiaomi on this one. I was eagerly waiting for this device but they've disappointed me. The spec is not spectacular.
I really really do hope there's a pro version coming up very very very soon.

Chinese (huawei too) have lost their mind of what made them successful in the first place (good value).

I'd take galaxy A40 over this any day, which is cheaper as well.

In comparison to preceding model A2, it cannot be a better model to persuade the user to move on to a new A-series. Not full HD display !!! it's really disappointing.

                                    What a joke, ROFL.

This is not what im hoping for.
                                      Display - downgrade
                                      Chipset - almost the same
                                      No card slot

There were some talks of Xiaomi quietly discontinuing the Mi A series. Maybe there is some merit to that with this device.
