They did trademark Ark OS & Harmony OS. I think they're still secretly developing the mobile OS on backend. They just made this announcement to calm down fans who were waiting for an early release.
After what happened to them, they would be stupid to not make backup plans for future.

Also they got a very good trade deal because they used Huawei as a bargaining chip so China will buy algiculutral stock from America.

Another Chinese Bluff bites the dust. No wonder it comes from one of the typical offenders - Huawei, ZTE and Lenovo.
All these days Chinese propaganda was running really high with a new OS ready to kill Android in the first strike. It was the fastest EVER, paid trolls were deployed across the web to praise such a move and Huawei, badmouthing of US and Google was peaking and what all this ended up into? NOTHING!
It was all a GAS BALLOON just like the Chinese economy sitting on debt that is 303% of GDP and accounts to 15% of the Global.
No wonder China when threatened by Trump, crawled.
