And here I thought "matrix camera" meant a speedy shooter that stops time like in the bullet dodging scene :(

Anonymous, 20 Jul 2019There you go again with your Sony hatred.I have no hatred against Sony. In fact i still keep all my old Xperia flagship. Cinema Pro app is indeed a step up making cinematic video recording on a smartphone, no doubt about that. Just it could be better.

If u play around the FilMic Pro app, u'll know its far more advance.

Who did Huawei copy and use a stylus for the Mate 20x?
Who did Huawei copy and use a notch and do Face ID?
Who did Huawei copy and do the circle cut out on the front of the device (not a teardrop notch)?

At the end of the day Anonymous is right and quite a few agreed.
The best Android phones are the S10 series and probably OP7 Pro.

"Now both of the company will not just sit down. Do u think Samsung can live without Sony camera sensor? Do u think Samsung can live without liquid chemicals supplied from Japan? What a dumb argument."

And can Huawei survive without Samsung? Apple who it always copies? Exactly everyone needs everyone so stop putting down Samsung when Huawei is just as bad if not worse.

S10+ Triple camera setup - direct from Mate 20
S10+ Reverse wireless charging - direct from Mate 20

S10+ big battery on flagship - direct from Mate 20

S10+ improve it as its a newer phone (well some of it). Mate 30 improve over S10+ as its a newer device. Its a never ending cycle. Both S10+ & Mate 20 are great flagship phone, both got its own pros & cons. Great competition create new boundaries, more great choices for us. Without Huawei, Samsung will play it safe. Now both of the company will not just sit down. Do u think Samsung can live without Sony camera sensor? Do u think Samsung can live without liquid chemicals supplied from Japan? What a dumb argument.

Cine lens on a smartphone? U gotta be kidding me. The Leitz Cine Weitzlar lens from Leica alone about $15,000 in price. Of course its a tone down version from the actual lens, as on a phone it must be compact & pocketable. Thanks for the Leica collaboration, Huawei.

If this is indeed true, Huawei is non stop creating something new, redefines a true meaning of a smartphone. Oh it must added with built-in cinematic recording & editing app (by Leica) in order things to be perfect, not the basic like Sony Cinema Pro app, but like the advance FilMic Pro app. Glad they finally acknowledge the most weakest part on their camera, which is video recording, bring it to the next level.

                              I like the posting rules:
                              > No SPAM, no commercial advertising, no referral programs of any kind
                              > No bashing - deliberately and repeatedly bashing the same brand

Well, I was always for huawei, and will still continue to choose them for mid range for my family, but the curved edge madness is not for me. Huawei lost me for the next one.

Huawei's ascend from mediocre to outstanding is admirable.

Looking forward to the Mate 30 Pro launch.

Fake news. May be. With the risk of android better to use samsung. They claimed an os that is faster than android. Now they say it is not for phones. There are too much people boasting huawei without a sound logic.

[deleted post]I'm both a Sony and a Huawei fan but I agree with you. Huawei has really been pushing forward the boundaries of smartphone creativity and innovation. And it has also caused other manufacturers to follow this trend and kinda like feel the danger. You see Sony's sales have been declining in years but it has just started to win some attention and also Samsung has lost a lot of market share due to Huawei and other Chinese Manufacturers like oppo and vivo that have introduced 120w fast charge and UD selfie camera. Actually I am really more hyped about Mate 30 than Note 10 which has really nothing new but usual CPU and GPU upgrades and also the S Pen isn't really anything new. But Huawei has always got something to urge people to buy their smartphones.

Really wish they step up their videography game, they are lagging behind competitor
