Anonymous, 16 Feb 2012Why is the the total Devices sold at 476k and the Os devic... more111,699 figure includes all mobile devices whether they are smart phones or dumb phones. 17,468 is symbian devices meaning the rest of that 111,699 is comprised mostly of dumb phones as we know that WP7 is a flop and so is meego. Sales figures prove this.

I know Nokia losing its market share and I guess we all know the reason. Android flying really high according to report but thats also not a news.

What you people don't realize that Samsung also just maintaining its spot without any improvements, in fact they have also lost their market share as compared to 2009's where they peaked at 20.6. So whats the fuss is all about ?

Sammy is here just because of Android, what would happen to it when people start adapting new OS ? Nokia has survived and still managed to keep its top spot (though it has lost some market share) But can Sammy do the same ?

AnonD-7134, 16 Feb 2012Nokia will always remain king. just wait for WP8 Apollo. No... morewp will destroy nokia, meego and symbian should have been the thing to save nokia but microsoft is into buying nokia so everything dies except wp... i wonder how many nokia (hardware) fans are there, i used to be symbian fan, so if nokia gave samsung symbian os, i would buy samsung, simple as that...:) (samsung need their os, nokia dont need symbian despite its giving them much more money than wp cr*p)

Why is the the total Devices sold at 476k and the Os devices ony 149040 ...

if nokia has 111k devices and only 17458 are symbian where are the rest(in which OS) it is definatly not RIM IOS or Android which means the "Microsoft" or "Others" should have the balance and that makes them one of the top 3

somehows the 2 tables in the top and the bottom dont match and the OS data looks incorrect...

AnonD-7134, 16 Feb 2012Nokia will always remain king. just wait for WP8 Apollo. No... moreAfter Apollo WP7 is what it should be ALREADY.

But then otherhand android and iOS have something new, so microsoft playing catch up.

Even any WP7 phone can't offer more than 16gb memory which is total fail.

I wish Nokia had gone for Android instead of WP7. I am a Nokia fan and a Google fan... Microsoft should get Windows 8 out and tie it with a WP8 tablet and WP8 smartphone devices in order to make it an attractive platform. At the moment people will only go for WP7 because of its MS Outlook and MS Office capabilities. Nothing else will pull customers. They need to get the ball rolling, attract people to the OS platform, which will then attract developers leading to a better platform. It's a cycle.

That 1.9% marketshare will soon be 50% as Noki... moreWP is actually great and has a lot of potential. but basically its still young and needs to be developed, while android has come thru a lot from eclair to ICS and is already proven, sales for nokia WP will increase drastically on2012 but that is due curiousity. people would buy to just to check WP and that's the critical part. Nokia needs to make sure to impress people to keep their momentum, 'coz if not...people goes back to Android.

apple seesm to be going down the drain unless they come up with something or open up iOS like the droids. The droid army has decimated apple's territory in the global market while a new threat from WP is building up and nearing boiling point. With these apple can still be called an empire which is quite impressive considering that they are continuosly under siege on both sides. But this is like the roman empire on their late years.

Don't laugh. That 1.9% marketshare will soon be 50% as Nokia makes its historical and triumphant return to the US market. The Americans are hungry for a Nokia and they all want a Lumia. They are sick and tired of the other platforms.

Nokia will single handedly bring Nokia on top of the smartphone foodchain and Android will be its prey.

Next year will be a different story and you'll read articles about what went wrong with Android and what caused Android's crashing decline at the hands of WP.

Nokia did the right thing and chose WP. They will soon enjoy their second golden age and there's nothing that can stop them.

                                  Nokia Rocks!
