So far they havent choose wp7, dont know why they would choose Nokia wp7 phone.
If i had to do that choice i would pick safe one, so far it looks like almost all do the same.

All these android phones flooding the market yet they still can't beat Nokia unless you're talking about platform OS. But the brand phones itself still can't outsell nokia. And the scary thing about Nokia is they are going to outsell with WP7 and make Nokia sales profit even more due to the fact that Nokia is just starting to push WP7.
People can say that WP7 sales declined, but thats because Samsung, LG, HTC, Motorola, Sony Ericcson, etc are more into pushing out Android. Nokia is still pushing symbian but more focused on WP7 and will be the top brand pushing WP7. The Lumia phones are just hitting TMO and At&t and will be coming stron gwith tango and apollo updates so WP7 will increase because of heavy support.

Quite a number of my friends and family do not know or care what OS the phones have. The Size, Look, Screen and Weight is what they care after what is the phones other have. They picked iPhone because that is the ‘IN THING” and has a ton of accessories that they can have. They would still get an iPhone if it were running WP or Android.

Second... if they are abandoning Symbian then going to WP7 was the best decision because 1) there is an overwhelming amount of brands making Android devices and Nokia would have to compete all them to get Android fans to like them and 2) WP7 is just starting off and Nokia will help boast sales for Microsoft.

Nokia was not playing on a level field. One of the reasons that Nokia did bad in US was that it did not have any subsidized phone with AT&T and T-Mobil.
Nokia N8 has one of the best camera on the phone but is sells around $400 while one could get an iPhone 4S or a Samsung Galaxy 2 for $200 with a contact. Take a look at the sales at the rest of the world and Nokia did not fare too badly. With the new Nokia Lumia 900 and 710 on AT&T/T-Mobil this year, Nokia sales will pick up. The Nokia Lumia 900 should do well with a LTE radio if it is priced competitively.
Nokia phones usually have decent quality (not counting the cheap phones that they sell in 3rd world countries). The general public does not care what OS the phones have as long as the phones works well and looks good. 2012 will be a turning year for Nokia.

AnonD-24476, 15 Feb 2012WIndows phones sales were 2.7 million, Nokia sold 1million ... moreyou read the table wrong... it didn't say that WP7 sold 2.7 million in 2011 or that Nokia sold 1 million of those devices... first it said that there was 2.7 million devices sold running Microsoft... big difference there since Microsoft had WM before WP7... so I would assume to that 2 million of that is WP7 and second this is the data for Q4 2011 which means even if you were correct to say there was 2.7 million WP7 devices sold and Nokia sold a million of them in 3 months and Samsung, ZTE, and HTC sold the other 1.7 million... you incorrect to say that it took them 12 months because it only says the data for the last 3 months of the year.

Come February 2011, the fateful date for Symbian, Nokia did not release any sales figure for any specific Symbian phone since then in hope to kill any promotion for Symbian in favor of WP. Symbian sales, though has dropped substantially in the past 3 quarters, still manage not to drop bellow 17 million. Nokia are selling an average of 20 million Symbian phones in the last 3 quarters. They have not released any remarkable new Symbian phones since the N8. The X7 and E6 that we all know are flops. The 700, 701 and 603 were only released later last year and in fact has been postponed before launch. The E7 is a technological and commercial failure. So what units do you think are those 20 million average sales figure Nokia have been selling since Q2 2011? I know they don't all belong to the N8 but it is undeniable that the N8 is the last successful Nokia Symbian smartphone.
