        Way too early Google...
Devs are just starting to get ICS roms fully working on devices now. Releasing JB right now would be a bad idea. You should wait until at least next year or late this year before releasing a new OS version. This is not helping the fragmentation issues at all....

Is it me, or are new versions coming out quicker than updates? Surely they could just update ICS by integrating this functionality into it? Maybe then save Jelly Bean for Q4 next year?

It would make more sense that way as everyone would have caught up. Even LG.

This might explain why so many manufacturers are sticking with Gingerbread instead of ICS, with the JB update coming soon.

releasing all new android versions so quickly makes total depreciation for our phones a matter of months. to be the best os (and i think android is very close) you need some stability. 5.0 is released while most of the phones only run froyo or gingerbread.

I have great difficulty believing that any manufaturer would supply a phone to custonmers that asked them what O/S they wanted to boot in to. Many would not understand or know what to do, quite understandably.

ther r so few devices which come with ICS out of the box today and do not see any major devices lined up with ICS, new devices r still launched with gingerbread and google already announcing Android 5.0 !!!

Is ICS a failure ? saw so many bugs during initial days of launch with galaxy nexus.
