A BIG fan kn... moreI'm a Sony fan as well, used to have a lot of Sony flagship before (been through a lot, from rooting, unlock, custom rom, custom kernel, Cyberian camera mod, Xnext camera mod). Guess what? Now jumpship to Huawei, & at the moment wanna stick with it.
Experience on both branded phone, it all that matters. Not everyone has the same minded as you.

Motherboards burned, sim slots and memory cips the same and very bad signal quality adding very bad software optimization and take that! Where some Samsung wouldn't reach the signal Xperia had. This is a troll one! Xperia have best devices with proof!

i know the sales are bad but u guys should know that this does not include x1 sales as it started selling at end of june/start of july

I like my first sony phone so far, Xperia 1. When everyone is whining for HDR photo, I just like the detailled photo it does. And since it's the only brand that propose no washed out photo, I didn't have any choice left. 21/9 screen is great for instagram/fb/imgur content since more and more user make video with their 18/9 phone so the video is too big too be seen in a 18/9 ratio screen with the top and Bottom UI bars.
Not good for everyone, but I'm perfectly fine with it, I hope it will continue like this for my next phone in 2 to 3 years and doesn't succomb in the mainstream no noise/no texture-washing photo effect, even if it's only a matter of taste. And I really Don't care if I'm alone liking the path they took. For each their own. New Sony liker here, bye my first lover huawey and their new horrandeous curved screens :p

Have used mostly Sony Xperia and Sony Ericssons in my mobile life. My Z Ultra packed up so needed a big screen phone for media. In Mid 2019 the Sony offer was just Xperia 10 plus or Xperia 1. Whilst I could consider the 10 plus there are other more attractive offers from others. I consider phone design one of the big factors and in the end settled on the Samsung A70. It's design is no longer awkward like older Samsung and for the price of the xperia 10 plus I got a much better package, I even put up with having to use a pin sim tray ejector which is one of my pet hates. While the OneUI is more complicated, the interface has improved since my last encounter on my friend's Note 8. I am pleasantly surprised by the extra features like duo Whatsapp account support. I do wish they have a notification LED. The screen is not as saturated and MSG like previous AMOLED. After using it for a while, I switched to it as my main phone from XZ1C. I can understand how it is a more compelling buy than a Sony phone.

Sony made great phones with great flaws. I had plenty and been actually pretty dissapointed. sony makes outstanding screens with laggy software and horrible cameras. What customers will never understand - sony camera lenses are used in most other phones up to this day - how can they s*ck so hard in their own phones?! Sony headphones and speakers are some of the best money can buy - but the phones got no outstanding stereo speakers (anymore). Sony makes great consoles, games and music - nothing you can experience on any sony phone anymore, though they had sony published games on old phones which was quite nice to have. To sum it up for sony, as if you read this: even your premium phones are average at best, but cost as much as a Samsung or Google phone. An outstanding screen with 21:9 ratio is simply not enough - how much time do people spend on netflix watching the dozen available 21:9 movies every day? less than 1 minute I suppose? Too bad 21:9 is quite awful for any mobile app containing text or gaming...get your mobile division sorted sony or you are done for sure.

i just feel in recent years when all devices turn "smart", Sony is always at the forefront of hardware but their software really sucks. my Sony TV slowed down so much i had to give up not because of hardware failure but software. Similar to my phones, they just seem to slow down alot quicker than other phones i have. i love their current line up with the unusual screen ratio but i really cant make myself jump back in after being burnt so many times.
