Weekly poll: is the Samsung Galaxy Note10 duo a hit or a miss?

11 August 2019
Some of the changes Samsung made remind us of the the Galaxy S6 redesign - taking features away is never a popular decision.

If Apple trully cared about their customers they wouldn't keep it secret that they're throttling CPU.
As for Samsung - they always overprice their phones at first, and then there's sharp price drop in like 4 months. Plus I don't get it why they keep pushing Bixby which isn't really used by anyone...

AverageUser, 12 Aug 2019Funny, but it's Samsung or Apple who does something similar like... moreI think you've replied to the wrong comment :D but anyways, i really like the huawei phones, mate 8,mate 9, p20 pro and now om using mate 20. But i do t trust them and believe anything thay say, is not good fo follow the favorite brand blindly, at the end of the day thay only care about our money and nothing more. Samsung and apple also puled sone nasty tricks and lied the customers with fake promo images and performance decreasing because of weak batteries. And we should be very vocal about that, no exception.

Anonymous, 11 Aug 2019So you never had a Samsung die on you suddenly because they used... moreS3 is far away from Note10...

And every Samsung phone I ever bought (even Galaxy Young2 which is 5-6 years old) still works - except the S8 which I accidentally dropped from cliff.

Berserker, 12 Aug 2019Can pleace stop with this king of umnature arguments about copyi... moreFunny, but it's Samsung or Apple who does something similar like Chinese manufacturer . comment section will be full of those same comments.

But still, it's kinda sad that "the king of the Camera" can't really make a video right. And not to mention how many times Huawei faked their photo samples and benchmarks... if Apple or Samsung did it - they'd be torn apart by media.

I still remember Huawei boasting to have first 7nm chipset, despite the fact that Apple was selling theirs for months before Huawei even announced theirs... and their claims about having new fastest chipset which just went silent after it finally hit the benchmark...
Huawei has lied so much that I can't even fit all those lies in a single comment, and they will still lie to you shamelessly.

The ONLY thing that makes me CONSIDER the Note10+ is the Dex on Laptop/PC feature. That's SUPER useful. Otherwise, no aux input, no heartrate sensor, no Micro SD, low res and no real ToF on the vanilla variant makes this the silliest Note since Note7. I can't see sales being high for this one. I've brought every Note every year since 3 without fail (except for Note7 year because that was super lackluster, and look what happened).
I wouldn't be surprised if this does OKAY and they bring back missing features for the Note 11, which is when I'll pick it up. This is just.... bleh.

I miss the headphone jack but considering that i had expected it to drop off in the note 9,Samsung isn't doing too bad.. I'd be upset if they omit if from the next s11... As there should be ample space for it..
They should have made the s10 like the 1st generation sony xperia z1 mini.. Which had the insane battery life... But there are other samsung phones geared towards that purpose...
Both iphone and sony xperias usually come with an underpowered charger..noone seems to care then... But slower charging is better for the battery in the long run i think

A huge miss.

Borrowing MKBHD's words: "can fit a 4 inch S-Pen but can't fit a headphone jack" and "a poor use of space".

Anonymous, 11 Aug 2019If your gonna spend all that money why wouldnt you want it 5G? f... more5G will not be available for most buyers in the world for at least a few more years, so they can buy both Note 11 and Note 12 before 5G becomes usable! Those who buy Note are usually those who are more or less addicted to their phones, and always want the latest model!

Currently I press the '3 horizontal bars', where you can toggle between Light mode & Dark mode.
If you haven't got that feature there yet, then try: >Settings, >Display, & find 'Night mode' option there.

Samstag mocking Apple for dropping headphone jack for literally no benefit for consumers and yet Galaxy Note 10 has no headphone Jack.
No wonder no one wants to buy this junk anymore.

[deleted post]I don't see how supporting the removal of useful essentials in a device more expensive than the last which had those is being objective. When you pay as much, you shouldn't make ANY compromise at all.

Also there's the fact the alternatives are not equivalent. Wireless audio still nowhere near wired. You'll be limited by the storage eventually. If phone breaks, all your data is gone because no SD to backup on and cloud backup is ridiculous at a pathetic 5GB (incl. Samsung Cloud).

Not all changes are for the better or worth defending. It's objective to acknowledge that fact. It's even less objective to give up on essentials because of "industry trends" (trends are never objective) or because a so-called "majority" doesn't care (no stats exist on that topic so not an objective statement).

the power user i used to be on a Note, I'm thinking of switching to asus rog phone 2, extremely disappointed just because of the no bump in refresh rate
