Samsung looking to deliver a graphene battery smartphone within two years

13 August 2019
It will be capable of a full charge in less than one hour but is still nowhere near user-friendly costs.

Just give me a battery that never degrades and I may need to buy another smartphone ever again.

Anonymous, 13 Aug 2019Samsung have been saying this for yearsssss.... Its us... moreLol huawei has only been doing ok the last couple of years..are you 12 or what

So that means new blowphones? Lower mah capacity and a "new" technology that isn't ready for the galaxy yet? We all remember what happened last time Sammy switched battery technology.

I don't know why a big company like Samsung can't get the pricing low enough. There is already cheap (authentic) graphene in the marketplace, check out MediaDevil CB-01 earphones, it's a company here in the UK that is not well know internationally I think. It's the only graphene product that's actually been verified as using real graphene by the graphene council. It's a bit sad that of the hundreds of graphene products china has flooded into the market, none of them are real :/

The ultra expensive G batteries would be intended to keep the same 2 day battery life but bring weight down, leaving room for things like periscope cameras or larger sensor cameras, and other techs, given the space become extra low for new things like 5g modems, under display fingerprints, under display cameras, multiple front and rear cameras, etc.

Anonymous, 13 Aug 2019Samsung have been saying this for yearsssss.... Its us... moreYeap, they will buy ot from SAMSUNG

Highlander1978, 13 Aug 2019Go go go Samsung!Even with the absurdity of Samsung's MSRP prices (like greedy Apple) of its S10e, S10, S10+, and Note10 Plus devices, especially compared to where they were 6 years ago....

....I would say it is worth paying (maybe even value for money?) if they actually included Graphene-Batteries that could double battery life from the average 2-3 days to an average 4-6 days. Whilst bringing the phone to a full-charge within 30 minutes. Perhaps they could even do a "Max" version where they bump-up the thickness from around 7.5mm to 9.5mm whilst doubling the capacity again to achieve a proper One-Week-Battery-Life, a boon for campers and travellers alike. And a feature to be envied by all other manufacturers.

It's theoretically possible, only IF they do it... or will it remain Science Fiction / Vapourware.

HEXUS has frequently reported on encouraging new battery technologies but they often seem to be slow to market - if we ever hear about them again.

                    Half Life 3 Confirmed.

Good luck to Samsung. We need longer lasting, durable and environmentally friendly batteries

Half Life is average, 13 Aug 2019What's so special about Half Life series? Is it rose tin... moreThere's no rose tinted glasses involved. Half Life is a revolutionary first person game where story and cutscenes are blended together in a way that the player can still interact and move during exposition. No other game does that at a time of 1999 - 2004.

Alright if Samsung will do it in 2 years it means Chinese manufacturers will release one next year can't wait

I appreciate what Samsung is doing, but they should skip on Bixby Home idea!
                                Lol

                                Peace

I hope Sammy is successful with this, and doesn't come across another Note 7 fiasco. We totally need Graphene batteries right now, as the Li ion and Li Polymer is getting old and outdated. Something that can be as thin, as flexible, yet hold a charge two to 5 times the regular battery, will be a game changer.

                                    Go go go Samsung!

Note series with this battery would cost 2000 minimum foldable phones with this batteries will cost 4k.
Even a 230 Nokia from 2017 with graphene battery would cost at least 300 euros.
