This is a great phone.
But I wouldn't recommend it for two reasons: Locked Bootloader, Permanent Battery.

Why it's good:
- Can you Tempered Glass Protector, for the Flat Display
- Has rear camera protected (No Camera Hump)
- Decent size and durability (add a semi-case and it's like a Samsung S10 Active)
- OS, Battery Life, Camera, Screen, Performance are all excellent
- Has all your basic needs (Fingerprint, FM Radio, 3.5mm port, microSD, DualSIM)
- Has your extra features (QuadDAC, NFC, Fast Charging, proper USB-Host/HDMI)

If it wasn't for the above two big omissions, I would've recommended this over the Samsung S10 and S10e. Yes, I can forgive the stupid notch and the poor mono-speaker. However, these two, I already know the track-record of ageing batteries and LG software, so I cannot overlook them.

2019 is shaping up to be another disappointing year:
No Razer Phone 3. ASUS RoG Phone 2 is too large. The ASUS Zenfone 6 has a poor quality display. Pixel 4XL looks to becoming more iPhoney. OnePlus 7 Pro still lacks most basic features people want. Xiaomi devices still aren't in the Luxury/Flagship segment. Samsung phones continue to disappoint with the Exynos 9820 and weak durability. All other phones have Locked Bootloaders, and poor support prospects.

NoM, 14 Aug 2019Is it not possible to root phone? And change system? I neve... moreI unkown it. LG in Asia don't let phones to be unlocked, one of the excuses it due to not let third party load bloadware from there in custom roms... from online shops like Ali...., etc. And what happen when the official ones do it? LOL. In Europe by law they must be unlockable or unlocked. Of course carriers can lock them and Amazon too. But if you change of carrier then you have the right to ask your carrier to unlock it. But while you are under contract, and sure Amazon have a really studied one... it'll be locked for sure, as long as it last or even for the life of the device if that is what you accept in the contract when you buy the phone.

So i doubt you can unlock them. Sure that they are locked and not able to be flashed without brick them and sure you can't uninstall those apps. If in some way you can disable them, any update sure will add them again and once they discover the breach/vulnerability, they'll fix it.

If you buy these phones you are assuming and accepting the bloatware and adds in the contract to save that money. But at the end you'll end paying it in data and/or unwanted adds or notifications or at least Amazon will end win money from those adds, its business always. So in my opinion, it is better to pay an installment for a free phone with no shit installed than this. And even in that case be carefull with the fine letter in the configuration of the apps the phone have pre-installed. Of course each one can have his own opinion about this. For me, i don't want to see my notification led/always all display every day blinking or my phone ringing because Amazon sent a new add or notification.

NoM, 14 Aug 2019Is it not possible to root phone? And change system? I neve... moreIf the bootloader remains unlocked, yes you could just flash the regular LG G8 software or any custom ROM of your choice and get rid of the ads in an instant. And you still get to save the money.

As always, LG always drop their phone prices so heavily even in the span of four months. Their resale value is horrific. I'd say this is a better value than Oneplus 7 (at that price). Too bad the battery is irreplaceable so that's a deal-breaker for me.

And you'll eat the adds too and notifications from them plus the money spent in the data that those consum. I'm not sure that putting up with that is worth it. My phone is something i want control not a foreign business than can send me all the crap they want at anytime.

There is now a polemic too against Apple using its Music App to send you adds and notifications and another one too with Samsung sending notifications in the Note 10 and Note 10+ with a really hidden option to disable them while you configure the Galaxy apps...

Of course all that is done on purpose. Today be really carefull about what you agree everywhere including webs etc, the devil Ok or Agree button without read all the fine letter, that profit even your gmail account, for example, to notify all you have accepted with adds not only in your pc flat internet connetion plus any device including phones you have linked to your accounts, drainning your data/money plan.

Good deal...not a K20 Pro price, but good.
