HTC is nice because its software is Google certified for the most part minus some carrier driven, or profit driven apps. The hardware from HTC always looks expensive, but the software is something that does confirm with proper Android standards.

There ar... moreThe fuss is mostly because htc has used a phone that would sell for half it's asking price, put it's brand name and is selling it to people for double the money only because of the htc name. For the same price you get much better handsets from other big brand names like Samsung.

Focus on mid-range and ... moreBoth are in the same way for now... less in the updates where HMD is doing what it was promised in its rented Nokia brand. But its phones are equally overpriced at their release than the HTC ones in its range, arrive late and with lower specifications than competitors, so not competitive from the beginning for now, something easily seen in their sales too.
At the moment a free fall for both. Although HMD took advantage of the nostalgia of former Nokia fans to do business. We will have to see what happens with the next models they release. The Nokia 7.2 in the leaked images seems a generic chinese phone like this one on the front, perhaps with even bigger bezels than this fake HTC phone even being probably a three times more expensive phone, with a back cloned from Motorola.

HTC should see what Nokia is doing. Focus on mid-range and low-range, solid specs with solid quality and timely updates and price it in the range with competition and it will succeed. I'm sure Xiaomi was hit by Samsung's switch of strategy with latest M and A series. Price lowered specs upped - bingo!

There are better phones, but this might be just enough for lots of people.
Also, no questions asked for 6 months? That's better than most offers by any brand. If the build quality is good, this might turn out to be a great deal

HTC forgot how to make phones. they should spare themselves the development budget for a decent device cause nobody buys a mediatek chipset nowadays.

Not to play spoil sport but Galaxy A20 is still better.
Bigger display that is a SAMOLED, has a Ultra wide lens camera and 4000mAh battery.

This is the grave of HTC, which now sells crap products from other low brands under HTC with the promise of higher sales ... The perfect way to lose the confidence and reputation of HTC quality that now covers junk phones with poor cameras and components, the cheapest ones in its range at the same price that competitors offer the newest and better ones.
Seems that the ship is already almost sunk if not at the bottom of the sea.
