ShareMe and the oters mentioned all utilize Wi-Fi Direct, unlike this new bluetooth based solution in this article. Which is still slower than Wi-Fi Direct. So I'll stick to it.

          Marco M, 20 Aug 2019The garbage app "Shareit" used to be a wifi direct app. Now... moreBro I'm android app developer and custom rom maker, i know how things works, wifi direct is same as Hotspot, in apps like share it and oneplus dash they use wifi Hotspot and make a local web server like localhost xampp and transfer info with json and html, app can create a port and transfer the files between host amd server, in wifi direct the same things happens but with system level access, not every device comes with 5ghz Hotspot support and wifi direct.

            Wi-Fi direct is still faster tho, and probably easier to use...

                "Wi-Fi Direct is a technology that generates a Wi-Fi zone and this in turn creates a direct link that allows the connection between the devices."

                OnePlus' FileDash and their sharing through hotspot is the same as ShareMe, which is Wi-Fi Direct. Hence it accomplishes the same speeds as Wi-Fi direct, because it is Wi-Fi direct. . .

                    gohelvishalp, 19 Aug 2019Nobody can beat oneplus filedash using 5GHz op to op 32MBPS... more32MB/s = 256 Mbit/s which is standard Wi-Fi Direct speed. Though apps using wi-fi direct can have caps.

                    Wi-Fi direct speeds should be able to speed up compared to these speeds as well. After all the modems on our phones are now faster, same goes for storage read/write speeds.

Bluetooth file transfer is less than ideal compared to say wi-fi direct. BT 5.0 peer-to-peer file transfers typically reach up to 3Mbit/s, although up to 24Mbit/s can be supported on some devices.
                      Here they are talking about 20 MB/s (160Mbit/s). Much closer to Wi-Fi direct speeds.

                      I just tell anyone I need to transfer something to to download Xiaomi's ShareMe (Mi Drop). It's much easier and faster (Wi-Fi Direct) than bluetooth transfers.

                        I'm not sure what this offers that bluetooth hasn't offered for ages. I transferred a large audio recording of ambient sounds to a friend via bluetooth some time ago, both phones were just android.

                                Why not just using Wifi Direct ? I use it between my Samsung phones, and it works great. It works also with Huawei, but for some reason it is not working with Oppo and Vivo
