Google File can ... moreLooks a part of the play against western tech companies, becoming less reliant on Google services, plus the offline transfer of files cross platform is a good idea. After Trump's trade embargo antics on China, the Asian market will likely take advantage of the consumers more open attitude towards alternative apps and operating systems. Whereas the US and Europe are clearly more invested into the Google/Microsoft ecosystem of apps/os and will likely shun new devices with an alternative.

    A lot of people know shareit. There's also send everywhere app as alternative

      This works just like ShareIt (hopefully without ads) mainly because 20MB/s can only be achieved via WiFi, not BT.

          Things like this are excellent, like Huawei Share on Huawei phones, I just wish Samsung and others could also use same service it's so much convenient

            That's probably why Xiaomi's Mi Drop was just renamed ti ShareMe.

              Why? Just use telegram lol

                It's more like just Xiaomi oppo alliance

                  Doesn't sound great, it's just your standard Local Bluetooth Transfer (nothing new).

                  Why not use NFC-Tap to authenticate a Wifi signal instead, and transfer Photos, Music, Videos, Files, and Apps much faster? I know there's not much NFC in China, as most PoS uses QR codes... but this could be the push they need to become a more wireless country.

                  I suspect they could have all China-brands joining such as: Meizu, Xiaomi, Redmi, ZTE, Nubia, Alcatel, Blackberry, HMD-Nokia, OnePlus, Oppo, Vivo, Realme, HTC, Lenovo, Motorola, ASUS... Maybe a surprise guest from Honor and Huawei for a sign-up too. Though I simply don't see Apple, Google, Samsung, LG, and Sony joining this.

                            It seems to be another group of chinese firms cartelisation for some nasty outcome to work in favor of their government.

                            Please change your phone's to indian or atleast non chinese brands (phones not made in China) for the safety of your personal data like bank login and passwords etc.

Google File can ... more1. bluetooth already there since God knows when for file transfer, if new file transfer services will present, its just optimizing parallel channel for transfering data to gain speed, optimizing reliable transfer just in case connection break, like those on peer-to-peer torrent kinda things, but using bluetooth

                                1. they will enforce such apps in-build in their os and hardware
                                2. with non user removable battery, nobody knows which file copied to God knows where
                                3. with the more reduce foundry platform, nowadays, 2019, from 7 nm to 5 nm, massive data transfer and processing power will not generate heat as hot as 14 nm foundry platform

                                got the big picture ? intelligence gathering by force ... they can scapegoat anybody at anytime by putting evidence nobody will not be able to audit
