vivo NEX 3 live image shows waterfall screen

20 August 2019
The bezels look bigger than competing flagships but it could be a software trick or a protective case.

I think in maximum 2 years or 3, all the phones will be just soap bars with no buttons, no ports, nothing.

They removed headphone jack so you spend more on headphones or adapters...

SD slot will go out next, so you have to upgrade sooner...

You see where this is going. Folding phones will also schratch like crazy...

AverageUser, 21 Aug 2019Yeah, but I guess we can only keep dreaming... Because the... moreTrue but this is the way they can make more money and continue to make more money from replacing endless screens. The " new trend " . It's so stupid how things are " evolving " that it either makes you laugh or makes you angry.

Livius, 21 Aug 2019Oh yes it does my friend. My brother in law dropped his S8+... moreYeah, but I guess we can only keep dreaming...
Because there is more and more manufacturers implementing edge screen, they mostly call it "waterfall screen" to cover their copying at least a little...
So we can expect more cracked screens in the future.

Livius, 21 Aug 2019Oh yes it does my friend. My brother in law dropped his S8+... moreFlat earther still exist. Lol

AverageUser, 21 Aug 2019Yeah, I mean I prefer compact phone, so it was like a dream... moreOh yes it does my friend. My brother in law dropped his S8+ from his jeans pocket and the screen cracked in a shape of a flower. The curved screens like I said, are the most useless thing ever made and I think I will buy the A70 to replace my S9+. And yeah, if Sammy would have made a S10+ flat screen, I would have bought it with my eyes closed.

Finally a phone that‘s keeping the headphone jack alive. No matter how thick the bezels are, It‘s a win in my eyes.

Livius, 20 Aug 2019Ohh yes ! Forgot to mention the screen protector that's imp... moreYeah, I mean I prefer compact phone, so it was like a dream come true for me... but I 100% get it that majority of people will rather go after a bigger screen.

I think that Samsung should have made 4 flagships instead of 3. Like S10 and S10 egde and S10+ and S10+ edge. So, 2 flat screen options and 2 edge screen options.
Edge looks beautiful, not gonna lie, but it makes the phone more fragile in my opinion

Though nice looking, looks like every other edge device.

Yeah, nah. Im not that into the waterfall screen, have a note 8 and from my recent experience of smashed screen im not impressed.

i use to have a glass screen protector BUT they never lasted long as i) the glass cover didnt fit correctly especially with a case OR ii) used the edges to fo fix itself down then would collect dust after a while.

i have recently found the curved plastic screen protector for it and stick 100% of the screen down so i get no build up of dust and protect the screen completely.

my LG Q7 now as a daily is a simple flat screen with out the curve and i really like that...... S10e is what i would prefer it to look like.

Chinese are doing what they are good at

AverageUser, 20 Aug 2019Reason more for me to buy S10e was the fact that the screen... moreOhh yes ! Forgot to mention the screen protector that's impossible to apply on my S9+ because it always falls down. If only the S10e would have been 6.2 in size, 5.8 for me is very small.

Curves will be what will attract your usual customer that only buys for fashion statement, and that is why the phone will sell well...

Anonymous, 20 Aug 2019waterfall screen, best advertising gimmick I've ever heard.... morePretty much all smartphones these days have gimmicks.

So the Chinese want to copy Samsung but call it a waterfall screen? Samsung's curved displays was always a cosmetic gimmick.

There are three phones I want to order from eBay for cheap and they were released in 2016 or 2017...

                                HTC 10 (carbon grey)
                                Google Pixel (black)
Essential Phone (stellar or halo gray)

^ I've owned the originally Pixel and Essential before. All three have a metal or matte ceramic back. I prefer my displays flat and the backside to not be glass. Everything opposite that Samsung and the Chinese are currently doing.

                                  More broken screens incoming...

Livius, 20 Aug 2019So I guess this is " new trend " now , everyone is make BS ... moreReason more for me to buy S10e was the fact that the screen is flat...

Easier to apply glass screen protector, less accidental touches... and the list goes on...

Too bad they ruined their NEX-line with this silly display.
