The most important question about this phone is whether Mediatek will release source codes for Android updates for free. If not, it will not have any Android updates!

Performance will be great, but thermals and battery life might suffer on that old 12nm node MTK still use.

They should stick with snapdragon for note and make new line-up instead. Redmi 8GT or something, with G90T, 5000+mAH, stereo speaker, aluminum body (for better heat dissipation, add basic heat spreader too), basic camera and no notch (nobody want cut out in their gaming devices screen anyway)

This means the update support will be awful. The Mediatek Redmi Note 4 ended up with Android 6 (which it had from the start) and nothing more. While the Snapdragon one got to 8.0. Surely I'll be shipping on this one.

Xiaomi have to be careful. India and rest of China don't like Mediatek chipsets..
