Spike, 25 Aug 2019Is there anything scientific that proves that fast charging... moreYou are getting it wrong, there are 2 factors that accelerate the natural degradation of this type of battery, over discharge, and high temperature, very fast charging generates more heat, which in turn, speeds the degradation of the battery, it is adviceable not to let the batteries reach 0% , and use the fast charging only when really necessary, that's it

Anonymous, 25 Aug 2019Yes ... It is a fact .. Let's say you work for a company... moreThis isn't a scientific fact. This is your hypothesis. Unless you can provide a link to such comparison (not an old link that refers to obsolete battery tech, must be Lithium batteries)

Anonymous, 25 Aug 2019Give me 0.2w chargerI think 15W is great balance for good speed and health.
My ipad has 12W (came with it) , it can charge almost 9000 mAh in 4h.

For the less knowledgeable here's some lithium battery facts.
The 2 most important factors of battery degradation depends on depth of charge and number of charge cycles. Then other factors such as heat also play a part. Eg you don't want a battery to get too hot, exceeding 60°c for example which is why manufacturers develop charging techniques which don't heat up the battery so much, so that part is already solved for you by the manufacturers. The depth of charge and number of charge cycles is the only factors in your hands. HOWEVER keeping your phone from 40% to 80% and charging it 3 times a day or going from 0% ( lithium batteries never ' actually deplete to 0% as the batteries become unstable ) to 100% and charging like so 1 time a day will result in the same battery wear. Then consider average degradation of 10% a year of battery capacity under normal use, multiplied by example 3 years results in 30% degradation by which point you will likely upgrade your phone anyway. Don't get caught up on people with unsubstantiated claims of nonsense.

Spike, 25 Aug 2019Is there anything scientific that proves that fast charging... moreYes ... It is a fact ..
Let's say you work for a company that makes smartphone called XYZ.
You have two prototypes to test, both support 40W charging.
Every day during 6 months you will use both same way.
Prototype A will be charged using the 12W charger that will come in the box.
Prototype B will be charged with 40W charger that people can buy .
After these 6 months, tou have to measure how much of battery was left by natural degradation of Li-Ion battery.
The prototype used with 40W charger will show bigger loss compared to the other one.
The improvements seen are just to make sure fast charging is safe against explosions. Not to preserve battery, except for fewmbrands like Sony and LG.
Many companies earn much money with selling new batteries.

AnonD-731363, 25 Aug 2019Man not everybody have 50-150 bucks for a genuine charger. ... moreAnd all these people struggling on 2 euros a day have found it reasonable to go out and spend over a years worth of income on a Note 10+ to find themselves in the position of bemoaning that they didn't get a 45w charger in the box because they can't really afford $50 for one and the 25w fast charger that came with it will simply not do.
That is a stupid argument that.
While I'm not defending Samsung not including one in the box, I'm not going to knock them for it either. 25w is good enough and is included but they've added the feature of 45w charging to the phone for those that want to go out and buy one. I mean at least we aren't talking Apple here that only gives you the bare minimum.

Is there anything scientific that proves that fast charging is bad?
Also, this thing about keeping the battery charged between 40 & 80 percent is just not a practice thing! I have to keep an eye on my phone and plugged in through the day.
How true is that?

Vyshak75, 25 Aug 201964 minutes actually. Which is faster than one plus 30w warp... moreYes, that is fast. Im using dash charge on my OP6 and it is fast. I never think about the battery anymore. Sometimes not even charge over night. Just plug in when i get up in the morning, 30-40 min gets me 60-75% on top of what I had and phone last easily a whole day on a battery.

Whackcar, 25 Aug 2019This is why fanboys are stupid, they defend terrible moves ... more1. Is your logic flawed or what? Not saying that 25W is OK but it's certainly less rough on battery than 45W.
2. I'm personally never using fast charging, I turned it off. I don't need it. How many people actually do NEED 45W charging as necessary? Not a lot.
But a lot of people would use 45W charging all the time and soon complain that Samsung has bad batteries...
