Nadalion, 31 Aug 2019Is the Note 8 an upgrade over the note 7 (Not pro models). Yes, basically it's ultra-wide and macro camera for same or lower price.

Anders, 30 Aug 2019So much arrogance and ignorance in what you say. Basically ... moreRemind me where I said that a politician answers ONLY to the citizens who voted him in. Or you're just making assumptions and reaching conclusion.
About your restaurant analogy; it's poor because you can't just see the menu and start complaining. Accept it or don't.
Surely, not all reviewers are good. We have a lot of them lately, and might had started like you. Okay, GSMA and AU make mistakes? Well, they're human. Guess what? it's not an aberration, even professionals make mistakes. But I rather listen to those who handle a lot of phones and makes it their job, not just a hobby, while garnering some good reputation over the years.
Like I said, you're entitled to your opinion. Maybe you are different, but people like you are why this GSMA comment section is filled with whiners and crybabies, complaining over everything. Like someone above complaining over the lack of OIS in a sub $180 phone.

Anonymous, 29 Aug 2019Hope someone can do a comparison between the Note 8 Pro and 9T.9T has the premium bells and whistles and will blow the note in performance thanks to its UFS storage.
Redmi note has the SD card slot and cheaper price tag.

Re the politician analogy. You're saying people have a right to criticize them if they voted for them. So by they logic if they didn't vote for them they have no right to criticize. So North Korean and Chinese people can't criticize their leaders since they didn't even vote for them
Re the restaurant analogy. You're saying I'd be entitled to complain about the quality of the food if bought it.
But then I'm not entitled to complain about the quality of an SOC unless buying the phone. But I already know the quality of the SOC so buying just to complain about it would be illogic. I preemptively know I'm not happy about the SOC.
No, I don't think owning a phone makes me an expert. I think knowing about phones, their SOCs and doing research on them before I buy them makes me fairly knowledgeable on the subject. Just because someone does something as their job doesn't mean they're good at it.
The amount of time the so called experts, the professionals make mistakes is ridiculous. GSMarena are examples of that. Often giving inaccurate information, Android Authority do too.
Often enthusiasts and hobbyists know just as much if not more.
To summarise if I think a company could've done better I will say so.
I guess you'll just have to accept their are people who dare to have different opinions to your own.
I won't be responding further as it appears this is going nowhere and you are obviously upset that people think differently to you

Anders, 30 Aug 2019I am entitled to say whatever I want and will continue to d... moreA politician, especially in a democracy, is voted in by the citizens. He answers to those citizens. His owes them. And, lest I forget, everybody is a politician.
If you're eating at a rest3, you can complain about the food served; if you were complaining about the performance of a note 8 or 8 pro you bought, your analogy would have made sense. You're own neither, and, even if you did, why would you complain about their choice of SoC after making your purchase when you knew quite alright that they had them and still went ahead and made your purchase? Dumb.
Established and deeply knowledgeable movie critics are whose opinions/critiques about a movie counts, not some regular viewer who doesn't know nor understands the dynamics. Same way experts reviewers take counts. You think watching a movie makes you a critic or having a phone makes your a phone reviewer? Sorry to break it to you, a lot of people have smartphones.
You are free to have an opinion about the new phones—you're entitled to it—but opinions could be valid or invalid. And yours, in this case, is the latter.

Also your argument of "you don't own a phone company so you don't get to criticize" is absolutely ridiculous.
It's like saying "you're not a politician, so you don't get to criticize politicians"
Or eating at restaurant and being served horrible food, but saying "unless you're a chef you're not allowed to complain"
Or saying to film critics that unless they have made a film they don't get to review them even though that's their whole job. Offering insight and different perspectives

Anonymous, 30 Aug 2019Moto z2 play has a huge humpYou're missing the forest for the trees. The sensor itself is far smaller than the one inside Redmi Note 8 Pro. They shouldn't have any problem fitting this sensor inside the phone.
