And with a 12nm MediaTek chip as well.
Well done Xiaomi, well done.

I really love the black design - business style you don't find often in times of aurora/color gradients/pearl effect. Im not sure about the SOC though.

News already known here. What about some front picture?
Blaster, NFC, SD card, glass front/back... they made unofficial specs sheet already. Check it out.
Agree all depends on that Mediatek for Pro. Note 8 is mostly camera upgraded RN7. Pricing good, looks is fine.

They look nice and the prices are good also. Not to mention they started at 4/64 as the base configuration at already low price. Good job Xiaomi, gonna wait for the review.

This will be a good buy if and only if there will be thriving custom ROM options. I'm not ready to throw Mediatek under the bus just yet. Also good on Xiaomi for not ditching the micro SD card, this phone will definitely need it for ridiculously large file sizes of 64MP photos. Needless to say the phone would've been DOA if it got rid of important features for sake of being stupid and copying the BAD practices of Apple.

Everything depends on whether Gcam will be available on the mediatek version... If not, the non-Pro Note 8 will probably end up doing better pictures anyway.

And here is a question- why should I pay 1000€ for smartphone when I can get this note 8 pro with quad camera, Gorila glass 5,3.5 mm jack, fast charging,6 ram,usb type c,fine lcd screen, and gaming procesor with liquid cooling which is also great for everyday usage, and everything that for 250-300€?! Great job Xiaomi.

As long as the camera2_api has been enabled for convenient porting of gcam, I'm already good with this phone. Xiaomi made a good decision in sticking with the same formula in Redmi Note series. Keeping the good features while improving some features, at the same time keeping the prices low. Why change something that is not broken.
