and view more content in one page and cinematic experience. It is 100 times better than those stupidly notch and punch hole. Those notch is ugliest so people have to hide it as a bezel.

Walter C. Dornez, 05 Sep 2019So it's bigger?Yes, not by a huge amount but it depends on the aspect ratio, a 6.1" 21:9 display would have less screen real estate than a 6.1" 19.5:9/19:9/18.7:9/18.5:9/18:9/17:9/16:9. GSMArena show the screen area so have a look at that.

However I am using a 7.0" tablet that has a TFT screen not OLED but 1080p has been the optimum screen resolution and I think reading text on a small screen wouldn't be a problem. Even at 164ppi i set my text size on small just to get more text on screen like on Whatsapp.

Who in their sane mind think 6.1 inches is in the palm of hand?! I have a 5.5" and it's very unsuitable for one-handed use, forcing me to maneuver my wrist in a weird angle to reach some spot on the screen. Sony mobile division is deteriorating so badly these years.

Are these a joke to you?Yeah they are a joke to me. Neither of them are true compact phones. S10e size is what standard phone size was until 2-3 years ago. Note 10 is even bigger than that.
Compact is Sony Compact series, iPhone SE, The Palm Phone, etc.

Denis Thomas, 04 Sep 2019Actually Xperia phones have an 120hz screen locked in 60. ... morei don't think you know the whole story about this. people were discovering in 2017 with the xz premium that it had option to enable 120Hz in developer options. you're able to turn it on but it does not work at all. sony released a statement and it was posted in another website that they have disabled it to optimize the power consumption of the screen. then some rom experts over at xda started working on tweaking the os to force it to render the 120Hz refresh rate on the screen but it did not work- the screen flickers and eventually turn black. they have since incrementally lowered the refresh rate until they found that the highest refresh rate that the xz premium can support is 70Hz. they have done the same thing with succeeding xperia flagships including the xperia 1 and all those can go only up to 70Hz. they have since been asking sony to explain this while the latter claimed before that xperia flagships are capable of 120Hz, but sony so far have not released any more statements.

For a android it good enough although could better, but let see will Apple gain the weight of battery? The weight and the thickness charging speed and the battery management and 4k experience also the factor to design a smartphone, all these check and a decent battery with the best display, sorry 1080 is way too far from show the complete 4k experience on mobile device.

I am saying if sony choose 1080p screen over 4k, with the same battery capacity or a little bit more (300ish mAh), their phone will have 1hour or more screen on time than using the 4k screen.
any flag ship phone is useless unless you can power it on. any added feature with compromise in battery life is a stupid move.
