Based on the rumors, the Sony Xperia 2 may be the spiritual successor of the Compact line. Also, the video sneakily reveals the color options.

And the quick charge also not a healthy way to prolong the sealed battery life. I have use a China big phone with 5000mah (I have disable and force stop all the plenty of bloated apps and disable all the frustrated permission some can't, except system apps) download most of the Google apps and it can serve me last for 3 days with moderate usage, 2 days normally, it is impossible use up all the juice in 1 day I am not married to the phone. But.. The problem is... It is totally heavy than my expected not to mention big phone have to stretch finger all the time too and the second problem is when reaching the night the battery has 40~50+ balance of power, I don't know should I do the overnight charging or not, because it (40~50+% of battery) still can use for the next day, if I charge it then it would be overcharged until the next day, if I don't charge it the next day left 40+%of battery I have to prepare a power bank for backup. That's quite weird. Last time, my Z2 I use until below about 20~30% of battery and perform the full charge in the evening, every day I get 100% of battery and a healthy battery life.

    Anonymous, 04 Sep 2019Eh, shouldn't you also have your thumb reach the upper part... moreI am using a China big phone with 18:9 ratio, I have reposition my palm to allow my thumb to reach the top of the display every time to pull down the notification because it doesn't come with gesture features, I have to install one from Google play, but Sony has the gesture to pull down the notification list easily. They also has the intuitive AI side sense, which you hold the phone middle or base position still you can easily trigger for those shortcut.

That's why majority of PC display is still 1080p, majority of consumer still watch 1080p content, and why majority of phones still in 1080p.
      I never care about 4k recording or content consuming. and i believe over 50% consumers don't either. And when facing the choice between 4k display VS 1 more hour of screen on time, 90% will choose the longer battery life.
      And this is why Sony sticking to 4k display does not make sense. It's unnecessary, expensive and battery hungry.

          Anonymous, 04 Sep 2019Sony should call it the King Kong Kompact haha.Compare to those big one this is the compact, if you're using a big phone right now you will know your thumb hard to reach the next side of the screen edges then the solution is you have to use both hand to control the big phone, don't blind by the big phone trends it cause you have to hold a bigger battery all day long, the giant glass display is always heavier then smaller one and the big phone is less pocketable than a compact one.

Some trolls say user record 4K video can't have 4K display to show the complete experience, then the 4K display for smartphone launched, then the trolls start another negative comment 79 hour is better than many iPhone, can Apple fans give some opinions the battery is enough to them?

But not enough. they pay more attention to t... moreYou sound like it's a do or die if you don't get the latest version asap. if you can't live without the latest x.x.01 version number than you might want to switch to Google or custom ROMs. I'm still on Oreo because everything works even though my Pie upgrade notification has been hanging since this time last year. I don't want to risk breaking some app functionality to get Bluetooth audio volume slider save state after phone restart. Apple also cripples older phones with every new update in order to sell you brand new phones. None of the iPhones works faster than straight out of the box, as soon as x.x.01 update comes performance degrades

                  1) software cost money
                  2) it depends of cpu maker to give support
                  3) it depends of OS maker too, remember phones with SD801 that could not earn Android 7 because they were 32 bit? Xperia Z3 was the beta tester of android 7, and X Performance took the place.

                    Name is Xperia 5 (weird name probably because it is 5G)

                    6" FHD screen (screen area value is between 5.5" 16:9 and 5.6" 16:9)
                    3000mAh
                    Black, dark blue (like 10) , white and red (like xz3)
                    Around $750 - 800 (less than $700 in China)

                    I think it is the only device.
                    No 5K nor compact devices.

Also, back when phones were primarily with a 16:9 aspect ratio screen, the phones had low screen to body ratio. eg. i have an S7 edge which has a 5.5 screen but with the same body and reducing the bezels, you can get phones with 6.0" screens at 18:9 ratios. All to say that this phone at 6.1" screen at 21:9 ratio with small bezels represent a low increase in body size compared the old compact phones/ its still relatively compact. hope that makes sense.

But not enough. they pay more attention to that stupid useless 4k screen than put more money to update the OS shortly after google release newer version and keep doing it for 3+ years. That's what Android weakest point now, yet not a single manufacture is trying to catch up to what Apple is doing.
                        Just to be clear, i am not bashing just Sony, but every Android phone manufacturer.

                                Sony is leading camera supplier to Apple and other well known brands for their mobile devices. Sony could have worked on their own smartphones to outperfom the competition on camera segment but they're just lazy. its sad to see Sony suffer, but they're responsible for this.

I prefer FHD but QHD is fine, especially on a phablet or tablet. I doubt most people would be able to tell the difference between QHD and 4K on a smartphone. Besides, 4K was made for TVs and desktop monitors, not small mobile devices.

                                        How is 6.1 inch compact like never. They are simply too tall regardless of how wide it is. I want Sony to do well but they don't market them at all, and their picture and video game better become top notch this whole Sony can't get their cameras to take equally good photos and videos like other flagships boggles the mind. Honestly if they don't nail it this time then they should just quit.
