Sony Xperia 5 is official as the compact variant of the Xperia 1

The phone has a few differences from its bigger brother, most of them size-related.

So, this is *not* compact.

It cannot be compact with 6.1", having to hold it with both hands, and sticking out of your palm like the Xperia Z5 Premium Dual - which is one of the biggest brick beasts of all times... :)

I am really standing by for the next real *compact* device - SONY or anything else.

My wife has been using a Z5 Compact for about 3.5 years now with no issues. It is a brilliant phone. Myself, with the XZ1 Compact, I wish there was an improved version (*not* like the XZ2 Compact) in similar size.

But still, the physical sizes of the SONY Compact phones are essential. You do not want to carry your TV set in your pocket or in your hand.

      And i am correct. Unless you have 42 inch TV or bigger anything beyound FHD on a phone size screen have zero value because the user will pay more for seeing exactly same like if he or she have FHD. or 1080p.

          Sony Xperia XZ3 is year old flagship from Sony and it's not a compact, but can be said it's a compact too. Pretty much every Sony phone to date can be called compact if they call this Xperia 5 as a compact phone that has dimensions as big as most of there largest phones in the past

They were not terrible, but I got them with a TV in a bundle, so I basically got them for free. They were worse than my in-ear buds from JBL, wired. And those buds costed me like 30 euros.
              It probly got better since then, but nothing beats good wired headphones, at least for now.

And the sound quality is simply superb. They are at the 20e budget too AWEI knows how to make great quality cheap wireless headphones.

                      Don't get me wrong I always prefer wired over wireless because I don't need to think if they're charged or not. Nothing beats that. But this doesn't mean you have to have a big budget to get great headphones.

                      My boy for example went for wireless ones at the 30e budget. Some ilov things. His worse decision ever because he didn't know about awei ones. So remember folks, research before buying something, always research!
                      I'm saying that you don't always get what you pay for.

                        Thanks, but no. And I'm not an audiofile either, I just enjoy good sound with good price and wireless headphones are not there yet. Situation might change, but I think it will take a few more years.

When they're on chairs they mostly have other people around to, you know, have conversations? You do you though not my concern.
                          Don't spread missinformation though. Comparing wired headphones with wireless at around the same price, the wired ones are better.
                          And that's not an opinion, that's a fact.

                          Wired headphones were and will be always better than wireless ones because there's no data loss in the transfer.

It ... moreI don't really use phone to listen music, but I have tried at-pha55bt via aptx hd, it's very good, better than any phone built in 3.5mm jack, what I do use every day, dedicated digital audio player nw-zx100 with pure flac which I rip myself as some high resolution Audio, 180gb worth of. Audio, I just use sony xba-40 balanced armature and at home akg k551, only the Asia only onkyo dp-cmx1 phone is remotely close to Audiophile

                            I am just saying that with the wireless option and high bitrate wireless Audio, it's a good compromise

                              Dont forget that all of Xperia Compact series is so thick (more than 9 mm) to accomodate the battery capacity. And now look at Xperia 5! The thickness is just 8.2mm which is acceptable for today's mobile phone.

                              You just troll and doesn't know about how hard is the manufacturing process. People will blame Sony if the phone is so thick for today's trend. But in other situation, so compact phone will makes the battery small. Think about it!

Sony has the ability, money, technology to easily beats the rest of the competition, but they refuse to do so. What frustrate me is they stubornly doing the same mistakes over and over again.
