I cannot understand why people are crying out at the specs....N8 did not lag at all, it was just a hype to pull down Nokia... Millions of N8 users will beg to differ...
I own both Android(Moto) and Symbian and I would vouch for Symbian , anyday, anytime..

I can guaruantee that a nHD screen with CBD technology that you can actually see on the bright sun is a much better viewfinder than a HD screen with some old display tech that becomes a mirror in the sun. ;)

AnonD-5950, 27 Feb 2012Sorry bro if I offended you. After I bought my dreamy DSLR,... moreWhy you will want Dual-cored OS if there is not a single app that takes fully that power....and Android is not an efficient OS..is power hungry, laggy, crappy and inestable....you need to reset more often an Android phone than any other OS in the market...

I'll say it again, why does the screen matter? The images and videos are intended to be viewed properly on a PC/Laptop or a TV. The same goes for DSLR cameras. The screen capabilities are irrelavant.

Anonymous, 27 Feb 2012LOL And the war of the words rages on! Bottom line h... moreWhy "terrible screen"? Obviously the resolution is not up to the standards, but it isn't too far in PPI from those insanse WVGA phones with 4.8" screen that you need two hands only to grab the phone.
nHD on 4" might not look THAT sharp, but it's enough and doesn't look bad by any means too.
The N8 was sluggish because S^3 was quite poor, which is solved after the Belle update, and that because the N8 got a 680Mhz CPU, this one will have 1.3Ghz, why don't you go check some Symbian Belle videos?

You're losing any quality and you're not "CROPPING" a photo to 5mp. The principle behind this is that 7 pixels are oversampled into one SUPER pixel and hence a 5mp photo will have amazing detail and fineness! The huge sensor works amazingly well even in low light!

After I bought my dreamy DSLR, I loose interest in any camera phone. Now, all I do with a phone is anything except for taking photos. Besides Nokia, I'm not impress nor intrested in any camera module. All I want is efficiency in OSes.
Symbian Bella is at the middle of my list which is between WP7 and Blackberry os.
Camera phone is not my thing now. I want atleast 300+ppi, Amoled, At least dual core, efficient os and 4.5" to 6" phone.

                          LOL

And the war of the words rages on!

                          Bottom line has to be this (regardless of what you currently own);

This tech is really impressive, no doubt, and it shows what Nokia can achieve and are capable of, that's not in question. The problem with this is that the actual phone it is stuck to is disproportionately low-spec in comparison (not necessarily 'bad' just 'low-spec')

Like my previous comment, what's the point of having a fantastic camera but with a terrible screen to view these pictures on? (and remember, this will be your viewfinder too - so you'll not quite know what you're getting until you download those photos)...

And also the actual guts of the phone - but the N8 had a fab camera but was criticised for being way too slow and sluggish - will this not be the same?

For me, slap that camera on a Lumia 900 and you have a winner, as it stands, it's an entry-level phone with a decent camera - but not at entry-level prices... where's your market for that?

Very happy this phone has been release as it seems to guarantee support for other Belle phones into future - phone has same screen resolution to current phones and CPU is not *so* much faster do Nokia 603/700/701 users should benefit from 808 updates

Images look OK to me, but can't really get excited about them and wouldn't want to carry a phone that big and thick around with me just to have a slightly better IQ - IQ still doesn't seem as good as images from a decent, small compact camera with a bigger sensor and better optics

Pixel-binning is an interesting technique, but it doesn't reduce noise in itself as the sensor sites in a lower resolution sensor are larger anyway which reduces noise. All it means is that there is more resolution available when you don't pixel bin - which nokia is trying to present as being an 'optical zoom' (kind of mis-representation to my mind) when they crop the frame. Though when you do this all the noise comes back and also the resolution at these magnifications will depend heavily on the quality of the optics - which at this price/size *cannot* be that high :-/

I generally use my phone to receive calls, to update social networks like Twitter and Facebook, to take pictures, watch, shoot and EDIT HD videos, play some games, navigate through maps (and actualy, on Symbian you can download all the world maps on the phone, not like stupid google maps where you can only pre-cache a small and irrelevant area), listen to music, talk to friends via the Whatsapp.
Seriously, what else you have on Android? More stupid "HD" games? I already have enough for me on my phone. :)
