is that a real 41 mp or extrapolated ? I mean a dslr has real mega pixels. and the sensor is th size of a large post stamp. so unless it's a ful size 1 or 1.5 inch sensor. it will just be a marketing gimmick. anyoen can claim a 1000 mp if you wait for the phone to extrapolate it that much from a 8 mp.

This is the best camera phone anounced yet( 1080p with superior audio from an single core CPU is something to be noted)and it stays there.

from 12 to 41 mp ??????? thats just silly they could have used the broadcom bcm2763 gpu which supports 1080p video and camera sensor up to 20 mp which is very sufficient for a mobile phone

feimeng, 27 Feb 2012the pic quality isn't amazing at all...... wat's the point... moreIsn't amazing? Well :
            a) you probably have the first and last Hasselblad phone.
            b) you saw enough 5mp phones that take better pictures.

It is still does not impress me. Still can't shoot in extreme low lighting condition.
Low ISO, shutter speed does not match DSLR level and lacking of multi-point autofocus. Small sensor.
Yes. The 41 mpx compensate the sensor size but it's still ruining the quality because the 41mpx is cropped to 5 mpx.
              Not impressive.
AND TO ALL BLIND NOKIA OR MOBILE PHONE FANBOY!
PLEASE DO NOT COMPARE YOUR PHOBE WITH at least the ENTRY LEVEL DSLR.

Addition. Do this camera phone produce a depth of field? No in a million years! Get a life and a DSLR camera.. I meant it!

a lot says symbian os sucks and this is terrible phone but so far i don't see this using my nokia e72. i got iphone 4s and tried android phones too. still i don't find anything that sucks nor terrible. and probably i'll get some bad comments not for the phone but on me thing is this is my opinion so learn to respect. not everything that's good for one is good for everobody.

The 38MP samples are very noisy...

Looking forward to the 5MP and 8MP samples, which I think should be nothing short of amazing

The dynamic range so far looks nothing short of breath-taking though

Hope Nokia will allow the licencing of this sensor tech for those willing to up the size/thickness of their cellphones to accomodate for a dedicated camera component =)

As a phone, Nokia is just the elite. Great build quality, optics and overall experience. The Belle OS is fine, not bad, but not something to get excited much over. I wish they could've released a dual-boot version.

feimeng, 27 Feb 2012the pic quality isn't amazing at all...... wat's the point... moreIt's a 41Mp sensor, but as you expect and as you see on the samples, the full-size image that comes from the sensor doesn't look that great, but the end image will be a 5Mp one. The 41Mp sensor guarantuee sharp images when they are downsampled to 5Mp, and makes digital zoom works without interpolation.

Nokia should just go for the camera market industry, and not the phone. The camera is awesome but still, other aspect of the phone suck as usual.
