            The current sensor+lens combos in smartphones CANNOT even fully resolve 4K lines of video.

            The whole 8K is silly marketing.

            Improve the optics, improve the sensors, improve the DSP, improve the codecs.

            After 5 years we can start talking.

            Real resolution in actual video recordings is what matters, not some marketing numbers.

              Wonder which phone will be first 8K phone... we may know soon

The worst offender that the 5G Mo... moreThe biggest reason behind the huge size and the power inefficiency of Balong 5000 modem was that it also supports 3G and 4G connectivity on top of 5G. Now they built the 5G modem inside the SoC, it should perform a lot better.

                    Finally, welcome to the 8K family but Apple's A13 (8K@60/120fps) will soon be released and will smash this 1 - 2 week short-lived so-called champion,

                      I'm disappointed that they stuck with Cortex-A76 and Mali-G76 this time around, but considering how much physically larger it is compared to Kirin 980 despite having more space-efficient EUV process node, I can guess that they couldn't afford larger A77 and G77 cores. It seems that the improved NPU and integrated 5G modems are taking a lot of spaces inside the SoC.
                      Still looking forward to see how it will compare against Exynos 9825 and SD855+ especially in terms of graphics, though...

                        Sadly, it's underspecced. The worst offender that the 5G Modem is the same Balong 5000 modem that lagged behind Qualcomm and Samsung's 5G Modems when it comes to 5G speeds and electrical efficiency.
